Corvus, situated in the Outer Rim Territories, was a planet largely covered by forests. The city known as Calodan was located on this world.
Initially, Corvus was an insignificant, remote planet with virtually no economic significance. Morgan Elsbeth eventually arrived, recognizing the potential of its natural resources. She promised the inhabitants financial advancement, employment opportunities, and prosperity, leading to her election as the planet's Magistrate. During the Imperial Era, factories and mines were established to extract the planet's raw materials and products. However, Morgan provided meager wages, retaining the majority of the profits for herself and her conglomerate, leaving the people of Corvus impoverished and disillusioned.
In the years following the Galactic Empire's collapse, Morgan's governance grew increasingly oppressive and dictatorial. She relentlessly exploited the planet and its resources, using her mercenary forces to strip-mine the world, while abusing and terrorizing the populace. As a demonstration of power and intimidation, Morgan ordered the burning of the forests surrounding Calodan, declaring that the fires would continue indefinitely and that the people would toil day and night in her factories, solidifying her reputation as a ruthless tyrant.

In 9 ABY, the former Jedi Ahsoka Tano was present on the planet, seeking information on the whereabouts of Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo, also known as "Thrawn," from his follower Morgan Elsbeth. Elsbeth had established an iron grip on the city of Calodan, ruling as magistrate of her own regime. Tano's presence on Corvus came to the attention of Bo-Katan Kryze, an old ally and fellow Mandalorian. After seizing an Imperial Gozanti-class cruiser on the estuary moon Trask, Kryze instructed Din Djarin, a Child of the Watch, to locate Tano on Corvus and present her with Grogu, a Force-sensitive infant possessing considerable power. Elsbeth tasked Djarin with assassinating Tano, who had been causing her difficulties. Djarin eventually encountered Tano, and after a brief confrontation in the woods, they joined forces to liberate Calodan. Tano defeated Elsbeth in a duel, and control of the city was transferred to Governor Wing.
Corvus was first referenced in the third episode of the second season of The Mandalorian, a television series available on Disney+. Writer/director Dave Filoni has stated that the planet's design was inspired by the frequent California wildfires near his residence. The Latin word "corvus" translates to "raven."
