The clash known as the Raid on the Spike unfolded during the Republic Dark Age in 1032 BBY, amidst the broader Chelloa campaign. This conflict occurred on the space station called The Spike. It involved two rival Sith factions battling each other: the Daimanate, led by Sith Lord Daiman, and the Odionate, commanded by his estranged brother, the Sith Lord Odion. Also embroiled in the conflict was Jedi Knight Kerra Holt, the sole survivor of the disastrous Operation Influx. She was determined to eliminate both Sith Lords, especially Odion, who intended to deploy devastating Kinetic corruptors on Chelloa to exploit its extensive baradium resources.

Back in 1032 BBY, Sith Lord Daiman initiated operations for mining and shipping baradium on the planet Chelloa, located within the Grumani sector of the Outer Rim's. Gorlan Palladane, a former Jedi, leaked details regarding Daiman's activities to the Jedi Order. In response, they dispatched Jedi Master Vannar Treece to disrupt these baradium operations through Operation Influx. However, these transmissions were also intercepted by Odion, a rival Sith Lord, who also wanted to exploit Chelloa's baradium deposits, but also destroy the planet with kinetic corruptors. Despite some initial successes on Oranessan, Odion's attack on the Chelloan mining colony of Jenith resulted in the complete annihilation of the strike team, with the exception of Kerra Holt.
Daiman then sought to uncover the source of the leak, torturing Skodo, a Rodian mechanic involved with the Chelloan resistance and associated with Palladane, until his death. However, Kerra Holt attacked him during a duel, and she quickly learned about the threat Odion posed to Chelloa. Odion's mobile space station, The Spike, was manufacturing kinetic corrupters, massive mobile superweapons with the capability of releasing baradium gases by igniting veins on Chelloa's surface. Driven by her hatred for the Sith and her dedication to protecting Chelloa's inhabitants, Holt ceased her duel with Daiman and stole one of his starfighters.

Considering Odion a threat to his control over baradium extraction on Chelloa, Daiman sent a small strike force of Daimanate starfighters to disable The Spike. However, Odion's gunships, including his flagship, the Sword of Ieldis, easily destroyed his light starfighters. Amidst the assault, Holt ejected from her starfighter into space and infiltrated The Spike through an open hatch. After discarding her spacesuit, she disabled a service droid and proceeded to Pod Seventeen within the expansive assembly area. There, Holt subdued a labor droid known as GAD-3 and reset his motivation center.
In return for Holt repairing his robotic arms, Gad-3 revealed that The Spike was entirely dedicated to producing kinetic corruptors and that all floors were decentralized from the main structure for security purposes. Gad-3 also warned Holt that she should not have come alone. At that moment, Odion and his Givin second-in-command Jelcho arrived at Pod Seventeen, interrupting them. However, they didn't initially detect them, as they were concealed beneath the catwalk. Odion was preoccupied with using his corrupters to extract Chelloa's baradium deposits.
When Odion asked about Daiman's activities, Jelcho mentioned an informant who had provided information about Daiman's baradium operations. According to a recorded transmission, the informant claimed that all of Daiman's mining operations were permanently offline, in an attempt to divert Sith attention from Chelloa. However, Odion dismissed the informant's reports as an attempt by Daiman or other parties to sabotage his planned baradium operations. Meanwhile, Holt released GAD-3 and instructed him to return to his station and open another door upon receiving her signal.
Odion concluded the meeting by ordering the preparation of all his kinetic corrupters for landing on Chelloa to extract all the baradium. Due to the volatile nature of baradium, much of Chelloa would be destroyed and rendered uninhabitable. While boasting about his recent victory over the Jedi, particularly Master Treece, Odion suddenly sensed the presence of an intruder through the Force. Enraged, he tore apart the catwalk and discovered Holt.

Ignoring Jelchro's concerns about damaging the space station's infrastructure, Odion engaged Holt in a fierce lightsaber duel. Kerra was also pursued by a mob of armed Gamorrean guards, Odion's followers who desired to die in combat. The battle led them through a series of catwalks to the upper levels of the Spike, the main structure supporting the various assembly lines. During a verbal confrontation, Kerra told Odion that she had attacked him on his space station to force him away from Chelloa, thus saving the lives of thousands of sentients. She also revealed that Daiman's mobile munitions factories were bringing in thousands more slaves every day.
Odion dismissed Holt's concerns for innocent lives, claiming that all sentients existed only to be killed by him. Due to his nihilistic philosophy, Odion considered himself the destroyer of all life in the galaxy and welcomed death. As he prepared to strike Holt down with his lightsaber, she played her final card by ordering the reprogrammed Gad-3 to open all containment fields, exposing much of the space station to zero-gravity space. This triggered an explosion that damaged large areas of The Spike, destroying many labor droids and killing many workers. Further destruction was prevented only by Jelcho reactivating the emergency shielding. Like all Givin, Jelcho possessed a tough exoskeleton that could seal all external orifices for protection against depressurization, enabling him to survive in hard vacuum.
Amidst the chaos, Holt hijacked a construction shuttle, incapacitating the pilot and fleeing into space. Meanwhile, Odion ordered his entourage back to his flagship, Sword of Ieldis. Understanding his Jedi opponent, Odion knew that Holt would return to confront him, which she did. In a subsequent cat-and-mouse chase in space, Holt's shuttle engaged Odion's gunship. Anticipating that Holt would ram her shuttle into his ship, he ordered his crew to open fire. However, the duel was interrupted by an incoming transmission from Lord Daiman.
In a live broadcast from his Chelloan headquarters, a furious Daiman revealed to Odion that he had captured and tortured his informant: Gorlan Palladane. In response to the intelligence leak, Daiman had ordered a military crackdown on all mining settlements on Chelloa, with his troops razing and pillaging the homes of the masses. Witnessing the plight of her friend, Holt aborted her run by making a quick jump into hyperspace. To Jelcho's relief, Odion chose to spare his crew because of the intelligence on Daiman's mining operations he had learned from Holt. Instead of using his kinetic corrupters to destroy Chelloa's surface, he ordered his elite Lightning Guard to be loaded into landing ships to counter Daiman's war forges near the baradium mines. He also planned to conquer Chelloa and annex it to his interstellar principality—the Odionate. Meanwhile, Holt returned to the mining settlement of Jenith in an attempt to protect Palladane's family from Daiman's retribution.
