The criminal syndicate known as the Rang Clan, also known as the Rangs, operated during both the era of the Clone Wars and the subsequent Galactic Civil War. After the Volpai Moregi was caught stealing funds from the organization, the clan issued a substantial bounty for his capture. This bounty was ultimately collected by the collaborative effort of two bounty hunters, specifically Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos.
By 10 BBY, the Rang Clan was engaged in a rivalry with Crimson Dawn and employed Kara Safwan as a spy to gather intelligence concerning Crimson Dawn's various operations. The Rang Clan's activities continued into 4 BBY, at which time they offered a bounty for the capture of the pirate figure Hondo Ohnaka. Subsequently, they took part in an Auction for Han Solo.
During 5 ABY, Eleodie Maracavanya made an attempt to utilize a tractor beam on the captured Super Star Destroyer Annihilator to pull a Rang Clan vessel into one of the destroyer's hangars, with Maracavanya's intention being to integrate the captured ship into zher own fleet. However, a crew member's oversight in failing to properly seal a breaching airlock nearly led to the Rang Clan destroying Maracavanya.
The name "Rangs" was initially revealed in a video showcasing an unfinished gameplay segment from Star Wars: 1313, a video game project that was eventually cancelled. This video was presented in 2012 at Gamescom, a video game convention.
