The vessel initially designated Annihilator, later christened Liberty's Misrule, functioned as the Executor-class Star Dreadnought flagship under the command of Grand General Cassio Tagge in the period following the Battle of Yavin. Subsequently, the pirate Eleodie Maracavanya seized control of it, expressing a dislike for its original designation and thus renaming the vessel to Liberty's Misrule. This ship then became the focal point of Maracavanya's burgeoning nation.
The year 0 ABY saw the Annihilator under Grand General Cassio Tagge's authority. Following a demotion by the Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine due to his failures during the Battle of Yavin, Darth Vader was assigned to collaborate with Tagge in suppressing pirate attacks. Vader successfully incapacitated a CR90 corvette affiliated with the pirates and brought it aboard the Annihilator. Tagge later intended to transfer his command to the almost-completed Super Star Destroyer, the Executor. However, Tagge's subsequent demotion following the Cylo Hijacking, coupled with Vader's appointment as supreme commander of the Imperial fleet as the Emperor regained faith in his Sith apprentice, resulted in the Executor becoming Vader's flagship instead. Vader's initial act in his new role was the execution of Tagge.
The year 5 ABY marked the capture of the Annhiliator by the pirate Eleodie Maracavanya, whose ambition was to establish a pirate kingdom. Maracavanya employed the Super Star Destroyer's tractor beam capabilities to pull a ship belonging to the Rang Clan into its docking bay with the intention of incorporating it into zher fleet. However, an oversight by a crew member, who neglected to seal the breaching airlock, led to complications and almost resulted in the clan destroying them.
Subsequently, the Annihilator once more utilized its tractor beam to capture a ship, this time a CR90 corvette belonging to senatorial ambassador Tia'dor Emshwa. Maracavanya informed the ship's crew that zhe was seizing their vessel, but offered them the option to depart via escape pods or to join zher crew. Only a girl named Kartessa and her mother chose to join Maracavanya's crew.
The Annihilator then became the core of Maracavanya's nation, known as the Sovereign Latitudes of Maracavanya. Zhe consistently brought old starfighters onto the Annihilator for retrofitting and inclusion in zher fleet. Eventually, zhe renamed the Star Destroyer to the Liberty's Misrule. Thousands of individuals resided aboard the Star Destroyer in makeshift dwellings such as tents, shipping pods, and ramshackle crate-shacks, located within the hangar bays that were originally intended for ships. One of these settlements was known as Hangartown. The inhabitants operated marketplaces and prepared food utilizing improvised thermal vents fashioned from the underfloor ducts.
During the Battle of Jakku, three Imperial II-class Star Destroyers retreated from the conflict and jumped to the Liberty's Misrule, mistakenly believing it to be an Imperial remnant. They attempted to contact the Super Star Destroyer, but Maracavanya instead ordered zher fleet to attack the Imperials. The Star Destroyers were destroyed, and their wreckage was dispatched to the New Republic.
