Eta-class shuttle
The Eta-class shuttle, also known by designations such as the Jedi ambassador shuttle, Republic executive shuttle, and Republic ambassadorial shuttle, represented a model of shuttle crafted by Cygnus Spaceworks. It saw service within the Galactic Senate and the Republic Ambassadorial Corps for carrying out diplomatic assignments. Later, during the Clone Wars, the Jedi Order also made use of it. The Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious employed a customized Eta-class as his personal shuttle towards the end of the Clone Wars. He utilized this vessel to journey to the planet Mandalore in an attempt to prevent his former apprentice Maul from gaining power.
During the New Republic Era, a particular Eta-class shuttle was operated by Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi Knight who had become a mercenary, along with his apprentice Shin Hati. They used it while searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn around 9 ABY. This shuttle was then commandeered by Bokken Jedi Ezra Bridger and subsequently landed within the hangar of Home One.
Characteristics

Cygnus Spaceworks' Eta-class shuttle was released before the outbreak of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and it represented a study in both style and practicality. This shuttlecraft, relatively compact at 14.2 meters in length, was initially conceived as VIP transport for the Republic Ambassadorial Corps and the Galactic Senate, carrying a price tag of 100,000 credits. However, as the conflict on Geonosis erupted, these shuttles were repurposed for service by both the Grand Army of the Republic and the Jedi Order. Some were modified with concealed triple light laser cannons and stealth technology, transforming them into covert operations vessels.
Eta-class shuttles offered comfortable seating for ten passengers, along with stowage for their luggage, accommodating up to 100 metric tons of cargo and two months' worth of supplies. In addition to its cargo capabilities, each Eta-class shuttle came equipped with two onboard folding Undicur-class jumpspeeders. The shuttle also featured short-range sensors and a navigation computer, along with a Class 2 hyperdrive generator and a Class 12 backup. It could also achieve a maximum atmospheric speed of 750 kilometers per hour.
Behind the scenes
The Eta-class shuttle made its debut in "Grievous Intrigue", which was the ninth episode of the second season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the animated television show. It was initially broadcast on January 1, 2010. The design of the shuttle drew inspiration from original concept artwork created by Joe Johnston for what eventually evolved into the Lambda-class T-4a shuttle featured in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
The shuttle received its official identification within current Canon in the 2018 reference book titled Star Wars Encyclopedia of Starfighters and Other Vehicles, authored by Landry Q. Walker and published by Dorling Kindersley.
