The concept of returning to life following death is known as Resurrection. It's a belief tied to the revival of individual souls, which some consider the divine and immortal aspect of a person. Others view it as the means through which resurrection occurs. A zombie refers to an undead being, brought back from a deceased state via various methods, most frequently through magick.
When Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, along with Skywalker's Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, found themselves marooned on the remote planet of Mortis, these three Jedi encountered three beings wielding immense power in the Force: the Father, who maintained equilibrium between the light sided Daughter and the dark sided Son. During a calamitous confrontation, Tano was corrupted by the dark side, and the Son drained her life Force, resulting in her immediate demise. The Daughter communicated to Skywalker that Tano could be saved if he acted as a channel to transfer her life force into the fallen Padawan. As the Daughter breathed her last, they successfully completed the process, restoring Ahsoka to life, thereby resurrecting the young Jedi Padawan and expunging the darkness from within her.
The Nightsisters possessed the capability to perform a unique ritual, which could bring the deceased back to life in the form of zombies. Grand Admiral Thrawn regarded death and resurrection as typical illusions employed by both the Nightsisters and the Jedi.
During the Battle of Endor, Darth Sidious, publicly known as Emperor Palpatine, met his end on board the second Death Star. However, the dark side of the Force birthed powers that enabled him to rise from death, in pursuit of further immortality, until the resurrected Sith Lord was definitively vanquished and killed during the Battle of Exegol by Rey, who was his granddaughter. Although Rey also perished, Ben Solo employed the Force to bring Rey back to life, sacrificing himself in the process of her resurrection.
