Rift

Positioned along the southeastern boundary of the Tythos Ridge, the Rift manifested as a profound chasm, stretching a thousand kilometers and plunging to depths surpassing a kilometer in select regions. The Rift and the adjacent Riftlands were plagued by intense volcanic and seismic events, characterized by sharp pinnacles and perilous quicksand bogs. It was an untamed locale, distant from the settlements. Difficult to access and complex to navigate once within, the Rift served as a training ground for numerous Je'daii seeking to refine their survival capabilities. Enclosed within the Rift was the Abyss of Ruh, a puzzling zone inhabited by unique pit-spawned creatures endemic to the area. It was in this location that the Je'daii discovered the creatures utilized for experimentation by the scientists of Anil Kesh.

In 25,793 BBY, Xesh, a Force Hound serving the Infinite Empire, intentionally crashed his master's vessel, the Devourer, into the Abyss of Ruh, situated deep within the Rift. The resulting surge of fatalities from the crash alerted all Je'daii to the alien presence on Tython, simultaneously triggering a colossal Force storm that swept across the entire planet. Forewarned about the crash via a premonition transmitted by Xesh, the Je'daii Journeyers Shae Koda, Tasha Ryo, and Sek'nos Rath immediately journeyed to the Rift to investigate. Upon convening at the crash site, the three Journeyers initiated a search of the alien vessel's remains, uncovering an escape pod containing the stranger from their vision: the Force Hound Xesh. Drawing their weapons, the Je'daii were surprised when Xesh's Forcesaber effortlessly severed their durasteel blades. Despite the loss of their weaponry, the three Je'daii's mastery of the Force allowed them to outmaneuver Xesh, and Koda managed to seize the Forcesaber from his grasp. Disarmed and exhausted, the Je'daii compelled Xesh to retreat further into the Rift, towards the perilous Abyss of Ruh. While pursuing the Force Hound, the three Je'daii experienced hallucinations induced by the dark energies permeating the Abyss. Overcoming these effects through collaborative effort, the trio successfully located Xesh engaged in combat with a saarl. Making a final stand, the trio attempted to fend off the beast, but were unable to activate the Forcesaber Koda had seized from Xesh. At the behest of her companions, Koda relinquished the saber to Xesh, who ultimately slew the worm. Shortly thereafter, the Je'daii Master Quan-Jang arrived, having determined that Xesh was the source of the storm threatening Tython, and incapacitated him with lightning, enabling Rangers Hawk Ryo and Rori Fenn to place him under arrest.
