Anil Kesh, also referred to as the Temple of Science, held a place as one of the nine prominent temples belonging to the Je'daii Order. It was situated on the Talss continent of Tython, a planet known for its lush greenery. This massive metallic construction stood tall, bridging the precipices of a vast ravine called the Chasm. Anil Kesh served as the Order's center for education in the fields of science and alchemy.
Within the enigmatic terrain of the Chasm, a Tho Yor descended in the year 36,453 BBY, leading to the establishment of a pilgrim community in its vicinity. Over time, the Temple of Science, known as Anil Kesh, materialized above the expansive opening of the Chasm, suspended between the summits of three rugged rock formations. With the Tho Yor hovering gracefully above, the Temple evolved into a destination for members of the Je'daii Order seeking enlightenment, as they devoted themselves to unraveling the mysteries concealed within the depths of the Chasm. Je'daii scholars at Anil Kesh endeavored to comprehend the enigmas of the Force through scientific exploration. The location of Anil Kesh held significant allure for its students; as one ventured deeper into the Chasm, the influence of the Force diminished, rendering it almost impossible to draw upon its strength. This effect intensified with an individual's inherent power in the Force; some who dared to descend into its gaping abyss encountered only madness and demise.
Upon arrival at Anil Kesh, all Journeyers were required to undergo an orientation program designed to equip them with the necessary skills to withstand the detrimental effects of the Force-storms that perpetually raged below. The temple at Anil Kesh maintained a close collaborative relationship with the Temple of Vur Tepe; a common saying declared, "Whatever Anil Kesh can envision, Vur Tepe can materialize." The Je'daii Temple Master, the Je'daii responsible for overseeing the facility and its operations, ensured the safety of all students during their practices and provided guidance to those aspiring to explore the depths of the Chasm.
During the Great Journey undertaken by Lanoree and Dalien Brock, Lanoree discovered her true aptitude in the Force, studying the arcane art of alchemy of flesh under the tutelage of Master Dam-Powl. Utilizing living tissue derived from their own bodies, Brock mastered the creation of entities that defied natural existence yet possessed the capacity to breathe. However, while Lanoree Brock thrived, Anil Kesh marked the site of Dalien Brock's failure within the Order. The younger Brock sibling absconded into the Abyss of Ruh, endangering the lives of his fellow Journeyers. After being captured and returned to Anil Kesh, he fatally shot Journeyer Skott Yun before escaping Je'daii custody, only to be presumed dead within the catacombs beneath the Old City, situated kilometers away in the Red Desert.
During Shae Koda's Great Journey, she received training from Je'daii Temple Master Quan-Jang within the beast pens of Anil Kesh. While practicing the art of taming her rancor-dragon in the skies surrounding the Temple, Koda momentarily lost control of the creature and nearly plunged into the Chasm after a projection in the Force assaulted her mind. The image, depicting Force Hound Xesh, served as a warning intended to alert the Je'daii Order to the impending arrival of the Infinite Empire. Meanwhile, amidst the raging storm, Je'daii Ranger Lanoree Brock was concluding her mission to quell the Stargazer Uprising. Having eliminated her brother, Dalien Brock, in the depths beneath the Old City, she acquired a volatile dark matter device that her brother had intended to utilize to power a Gree hypergate. Upon landing at the Temple, three Rangers took possession of the device, transporting it into the depths of Anil Kesh on a secure trolley for examination and preservation. Lanoree Brock's companions, Tre Sana and the droid Ironholgs, received medical treatment and repairs, respectively, within the Great Temple.
When the Infinite Empire's Force Hound Xesh detected Tython's presence in the Force, he guided his master, Predor Skal'nas, to the system to initiate an invasion. Concurrently, the Je'daii seers actively engaged in the war effort were granted a vision of the coming battle at Anil Kesh, enabling the Order to establish a defensive position within the storm-ravaged crags of the Chasm. On the eve of battle, Je'daii seer Tasha Ryo and her mentor, Ters Sendon, consulted the A'nang Holocron within the halls of Anil Kesh, seeking answers regarding the Rakatan's objectives within the Chasm beneath the Temple. As the battle commenced on the slopes of the surrounding mountains, the imbalance in the Force caused violent Force storms to engulf the Chasm, resulting in tremors and fissures throughout the rocks and canyon. Amidst the chaos of the battle beneath the Temple, seers Ryo and Sendon deduced the true purpose of the Tho Yor from A'nang's holocron. Utilizing the holocron as the fail-safe mechanism it was designed to be in the event of a Rakatan assault, Ryo sacrificed herself to activate a defensive sequence within the Tho Yor, plunging herself into the exploration beam at the heart of the Temple. This act of selflessness triggered the Tho Yor to activate and prepare to deploy its defensive systems. Recognizing the imminent danger, Master Sendon ordered the evacuation of Anil Kesh and fled before the destruction commenced. Fully charged, the Tho Yor unleashed a devastating blast through Anil Kesh and into the Chasm, obliterating the Prime Gate concealed at the bottom of the pit, the true objective of the Infinite Empire's leadership. This cataclysmic event tore through the Temple, shattering windows and rupturing metal structures. In the aftermath of the battle, Anil Kesh's impressive engineering withstood a direct energy blast, with all three structural support legs maintaining the core Temple's stability. The blast from the Tho Yor had decimated the Temple's upper floors and central exploration cannon, leaving the Temple in ruins. Temple Master Ketu joined Master Rajivari and Daegon Lok amidst the wreckage to assess the damage and deliberate on the future of the Je'daii Order.

Anil Kesh, a testament to Je'daii technical prowess, spanned the cliffs of the Chasm with remarkable resilience, unaffected by the constant, violent Force storms raging within the massive crevasse. The Tho Yor, around which the Temple was constructed, orbited the Temple in a mysterious pattern, propelled by unknown forces. Comprising three colossal support legs, a central structure, and three balancing arms, the Temple possessed an insect-like appearance, with a robust metal shell safeguarding the interior from external elements.
The support legs anchoring the Temple utilized shock dampeners comparable in size to Cloud Chasers to maintain the complex's stability during sustained winds and violent storms. Tanks filled with pneumatic fluid were strategically positioned along each leg to ensure the necessary equilibrium. The interior of the legs housed a honeycomb of apartments for both Journeyers and Masters, enhancing structural integrity. While never utilized, escape craft were stored in emergency hangar ports in case of a collapse necessitating evacuation. Similarly, the beast pens of Anil Kesh were situated within the support arms. Within these pens, creatures from the Abyss of Ruh underwent genetic manipulation through Force alchemy. Despite some Je'daii questioning the morality of altering a creature's nature, the Je'daii aimed to make the modifications a continuation of the animal's natural evolution.
The Temple itself was suspended between the three support legs, an armored, eight-sided structure featuring numerous exterior viewing platforms and landing aprons. Inside were the various laboratories, libraries, study rooms, gymnasiums, and other facilities essential for maintaining the Temple of Science. Among the primary laboratories were weapons labs dedicated to developing both Force-augmented metallurgical weapons and tools specifically tailored to the Force. Alchemists in these rooms manipulated the properties of chemicals and solids, endeavoring to harness the raw energy captured within the Chasm. Organic tools, neither fully alive nor entirely inert, were cultivated here for use in equipment across the planet. The lower floors housed hangar bays from which drones and other equipment could be deployed into the Chasm. Extending from the bottom of the Temple was a scientific cannon that emitted a continuous stream of white energy into the bottomless pit, collecting samples and data long after all conceivable experiments had been conducted. Despite its power, the exploratory beam could not penetrate the Chaos Wall in the depths of the Chasm.
The three claw-like arms arched from a joint atop each support leg, curving over the main body of the Temple to counterbalance the support legs. Each balancing arm contained multiple communications arrays, enabling communication with other Great Temples and Rangers in the field. Additionally, absorption equipment facilitated the collection of atmospheric charges, providing a renewable energy source to power the entire facility.
