Ketu, a male Human of the Je'daii Order, held the esteemed position of Je'daii Temple Master on Tython. His service occurred during the apex of the Infinite Empire's power. Widely regarded as among the most insightful and potent masters within the Order during that era, he presided over the Je'daii Council as its leader. Residing within Akar Kesh, which housed the Temple of Balance, Ketu was the figure the Je'daii turned to during times of conflict, crisis, and tranquility, to guide them and maintain Tython's equilibrium within the Force.
Ketu, a Human with Force-sensitive abilities, underwent training in the Force under the auspices of the Je'daii Order on the planet Tython. Tython was one of nine planets that constituted the Settled Worlds within the Tython system. Under the direct tutelage of Je'daii Master Rajivari, Ketu achieved the rank of Je'daii Temple Master, the Order's highest echelon, in 25,805 BBY after the passing of Master Telaat. As the overseer of the Great Temple of Balance, Akar Kesh, Ketu bore no weapon. He, along with the other Temple Masters, comprised the Masters' Council, convening via holocommunication within the massive Tho Yor located at Akar Kesh. Serving as both a teacher and mentor to Je'daii of all generations, Ketu dwelled within a chamber hewn into the body of the immense monolithic pillar that housed the Temple of Akar Kesh.
In 25,793 BBY, when the Devourer, a starship of Rakatan origin, crash-landed on Tython, Master Ketu met with Je'daii Ranger Rori Fenn in his chambers to deliberate the Force storm engulfing the planet. Disturbed by the surge of dark-side energy that had disrupted the Force's equilibrium, and concerned that the ship might herald a larger fleet, Ketu tasked Fenn with investigating the crash site near the Rift to ascertain the nature of the incident and locate any survivors. Ascending into the Tho Yor above Akar Kesh to communicate via holocommunication with members of the Masters' Council, Ketu listened to a report from Temple Master Kora Ryo, who believed the Force storm over Tython was the most severe since the Tho Yor's arrival nearly ten thousand years prior. After hearing a remote report from Temple Master Quan-Jang, Ketu instructed the Council members to gather as many Je'daii as possible and engage in collective meditation to quell the storm and restore balance to the Force. Having successfully ended the storm through their unified meditation, Ketu journeyed to Mahara Kesh to meet with the Je'daii who had investigated the crash site and to encounter their prisoner, the vessel's sole survivor. This individual, known as Xesh, was a Human deeply immersed in the dark side of the Force and far from balanced. Following consultations with the Council, Ketu exiled Xesh to the moon of Bogan for meditation and contemplation on the dark side until he achieved Balance. Despite the appeals of Je'daii Journeyers Tasha Ryo, Shae Koda, and Sek'nos Rath, Ketu stood by his decision, and Xesh was transported off-world.

Seeking enlightenment, Ketu ventured beyond the waterfalls of Akar Kesh in search of Rajivari, his former mentor. He discovered him deep in meditation at the base of an ancient, weathered statue. Ketu recounted the ship's crash and the Journeyers' pleas, who claimed to have had a vision regarding Xesh's arrival. Rajivari chided his former student for dismissing their vision and exiling Xesh, asserting that the Council had made a similar error seven years prior by exiling Daegen Lok and disregarding his own vision. Disagreeing with Rajivari, Ketu departed on the paddle boat he had arrived on, carrying more questions than answers.
Following Xesh's escape from Bogan with fellow exile Daegen Lok, Ketu received Journeyer Tasha Ryo and Masters Rajivari and Ters Sendon in his private quarters. Ryo unveiled an ancient holocron created by the Kwa race, who had once maintained a colony on Tython in the distant past. According to the holocron's gatekeeper named A'nang, the Infinite Empire of the Rakata posed a grave danger to any world they encountered due to their warlike and brutal nature. Recognizing that the vision of war for which Je'daii Lok had been exiled years prior was materializing, Ketu demanded the capture of Lok and Xesh in anticipation of a Rakatan invasion. If Xesh, the sole survivor of the Rakatan ship that had crashed on Tython, possessed any knowledge, Ketu was determined to extract it. Following the successful capture of both Xesh and Lok, Ketu began to supervise the Order's preparations for war. Summoning Ranger Hawk Ryo to his chambers, Ketu inquired about further details of Lok's vision from seven years prior. Ryo had been present during the vision and had, in fact, shared in it, but had lied about it and convinced himself that he had been hallucinating. In Lok's vision, the Je'daii saw himself leading an army to fight the Rakatan invasion; however, Ryo asserted that Lok was mistaken: Xesh was the one leading the Je'daii.
With the emergence of the Infinite Empire, a massive assault was unleashed upon the Tython system, leading to the downfall of numerous worlds. As they slowly advanced toward Tython, Master Ketu remained on the planet while Master Rajivari commanded Je'daii forces from Shikaakwa. After the year-long conflict, Ketu convened with the victorious Je'daii general Daegen Lok at the ruins of Anil Kesh, the location of the final victory against the Rakata. Ketu advocated for the elimination of the enigmatic weapon known as the Forcesaber, but Lok disagreed, believing it would prove valuable in the years to come as circumstances evolved on Tython.
