Scar was a Human female who possessed Force-sensitivity. She was a clone originating from an Imperial research facility situated on a frozen moon located within the Unknown Regions. Maker was her partner.
As part of a cloning program initiated by Grand Admiral Thrawn, Scar, a Human clone with latent Force-sensitivity, was created by the Galactic Empire within a research facility on a frozen moon in the Unknown Regions. Scar was among numerous Sith-Jedi clones cultivated at the facility. Under the guidance of Seer, she and the other clones eventually began worshipping the entity known as "Mother". Subsequently, the newly formed Community killed and ousted the Imperial forces managing the research facility. For numerous years, the clones remained on the moon. It wasn't until 41.5 ABY that they escaped the facility by commandeering a CloakShape fighter brought to the moon by Kell Douro, an Anzat Sith agent. However, Jedi Knight Jaden Korr killed Alpha during their escape.
Scar, along with all other members of the Community except for the clone Soldier, suffered from an ailment stemming from their cloned origins. As they fled the research facility, the CloakShape passed through remnants of the Lignan cargo from the destroyed Sith dreadnaught Harbinger. This Lignan amplified the clones' Force perception and accelerated their sickness, ultimately leading to Scar's death. Seer interpreted the illness as a trial set by Mother and instructed Soldier to pilot the CloakShape fighter to the planet Fhost to acquire medication for the clones, with plans to then seek out Mother.
The book never revealed the source template for Scar's cloning. Her black hair suggests that her template may have been Roganda Ismaren, an Emperor's Hand, whose DNA was likely in the possession of Imperial scientists.
