The group known as the Community, also referred to as the Jedi-Sith clones, originated as a highly classified project within an Imperial facility. This facility was under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn and was situated on a Frozen moon located in the Unknown Regions. The individuals created were clone humans derived from the DNA of both Emperor Palpatine and several Jedi, including Kam Solusar, Jaden Korr, Lumiya, Kyle Katarn, and potentially Mara Jade Skywalker and Lassin. The entire operation was overseen by Dr. Gray.
The isolation in which these clones were maintained significantly accelerated their mental decline, ultimately leading to madness. As time progressed, they managed to scavenge parts and construct their own lightsabers. A violent rebellion ensued, resulting in the deaths of the entire scientific team and the stormtrooper security detail. The clones remained hidden in the facility's lower levels until 41 ABY, when they were accidentally discovered by Jaden Korr and Khedryn Faal, who were investigating a Force vision experienced by Korr, and by the Anzat assassin Kell Douro. Korr eliminated Alpha, a clone derived from Kam Solusar, before the remaining clones and their offspring escaped the moon aboard Douro's ship, the Predator. At least ten clones were aboard the ship during their escape.
Thrawn's experiments resulted in the creation of numerous clones; however, many succumbed to genetic deterioration and internal conflicts stemming from their unstable mental states. Their offspring also faced high mortality rates due to inheriting the flawed genes. By the time Jaden Korr returned to the Frozen Moon in 41 ABY, only eight clones and three of their children remained alive.
Aside from the clones who established the Community on the Frozen Moon, the One Sith also created Jedi-Sith clones, possibly as a continuation of Thrawn's project, and maybe Jaden Korr who was placed on Coruscant and later joined the New Jedi Order.
- The Iteration
- Jaden Korr (possibly)
The Jedi-Sith clones made their debut in Paul S. Kemp's novel, Crosscurrent. While the specific identities of the cloned Jedi remain unconfirmed, Korr's Force vision suggests that Mara Jade, Lassin, and Lumiya were among those cloned, at the very least. Other clones were created from unidentified Force-sensitive individuals.
The novel Riptide hinted at the possibility that Jaden Korr himself was a clone, although definitive proof was lacking.
Both the conclusion of Crosscurrent and several instances in Riptide mention that eleven clones escaped the moon aboard Kell Douro's ship. However, only twelve clones are ever identified by name, and two of them—Alpha and Wry—are known to have perished on the moon. It remains unclear whether Jaden Korr's count was simply inaccurate or if there is indeed an eleventh clone who is either unknown to or has already separated from The Community.
