Terrinald Screed was a human male who held positions of power within the Galactic Empire. He functioned as an officer in the Imperial Navy and was also a high-ranking operative within the Naval Intelligence Agency in the years following the conclusion of the Clone Wars. During the Separatist Crisis, he served as an officer in the Judicial Department and supported the act that would enable the Galactic Republic to establish an army.
Terrinald Screed's service to the Galactic Republic included a role as an officer within the Judicial Department during its final years. As the Separatist Crisis unfolded, the Galactic Senate considered a bill to authorize the Republic to form an army to oppose the Confederacy of Independent Systems; Screed aligned himself with those who favored its passage. He emphasized in a Holonet broadcast that the Republic had previously benefited from a strong, unified military during times of crisis. During the [Clone Wars](/article/clone_wars], Screed suffered the loss of his eye, which was then replaced with a cybernetic implant.
By 14 BBY, which was five years after the war's end and the transition to the Galactic Empire, Vice Admiral Screed had become a member of the Naval Intelligence Agency and held a prominent position. He was present on Coruscant with other Imperial officers, including Vice Admiral Dodd Rancit of Naval Intelligence, when Moff Wilhuff Tarkin presented his report regarding the attack on Sentinel Base.
Following another rebel attack on Galidraan Station, he and Rancit requested a meeting of the Joint Chiefs. They argued that the rebel cell represented a more significant threat than ISB Deputy Director Harus Ison believed. However, his prediction that Nam Chorios would be the next target proved incorrect, as Lucazec was attacked instead. He was further misled when Tarkin and Darth Vader discovered that Rancit, his colleague, was a traitor who had been secretly aiding the rebels, deceiving both him and Ison, though this information was not revealed to Screed or others in Naval Intelligence.
Screed was later promoted to the rank of admiral and commanded Imperial Navy forces in driving the Iska pirates away from Fanha, before achieving a decisive defeating of them at Tosste. This accomplishment was so noteworthy that it became required study in Imperial Academies, including the one located on Arkanis.
Sometime before the Liberation of Kashyyyk, he met his death at the hands of pirates in the vicinity of the Iktari Circle.
