The Senate Subcommittee to Investigate Jedi Activity was a special committee established within the Galactic Alliance Senate during the year 44 ABY.
Following the New Jedi Order's action of removing Natasi Daala from her position as Chief of State, a temporary governing body known as a Triumvirate was established, headed by Saba Sebatyne, who was serving as the acting Grand Master of the Jedi Order. Upon the return of Grand Master Luke Skywalker and the subsequent departure of the Jedi from Coruscant, the Triumvirate was disbanded.
In that same year, the newly-emerged Lost Tribe of Sith originating from the planet of Kesh initiated a clandestine operation to infiltrate the Galactic Alliance government located on the galactic capital world of Coruscant. They strategically placed high-ranking agents within influential positions of the Galactic Alliance Senate. Ivaar Workan, a Sith High Lord, successfully infiltrated the Senate by assuming the identity of a Senator named "Kameron Suldar," and in this role, he took command of the Senate Subcommittee to Investigate Jedi Activity.
The officially stated aim of the subcommittee was to probe alleged abuses of authority by the Jedi during their tenure in power under the Triumvirate. However, its real purpose was to undermine the Jedi's reputation and pave the way for the Sith to seize complete control of the Galactic Alliance. As the leader of the subcommittee, Workan gave the order for the arrest of Leia Organa Solo, the Jedi ambassador stationed on Coruscant, in an effort to neutralize her as a potential obstacle. The accusations made by the subcommittee, along with the biased reporting disseminated by the Sith's media outlet, BAMR News, contributed to a resurgence of anti-Jedi prejudice on Coruscant.
