The She'ar were a specialized contingent within the Nihil pirate syndicate, deeply devoted to both the Eye of the Nihil and Marchion Ro. Sometime in the period between 231 BBY and 230 BBY, Ro handpicked seven of the Nihil's most skilled warriors to establish the She'ar. To elucidate their designation, he recounted a tale of the tempestuous planet Everon, the ancestral homeworld of his species, the Evereni. Subsequently, he led the She'ar on a mission targeting the enigmatic Planet X, with the objective of securing individuals from the Nameless species for deployment against the Jedi Order. Post-mission, the She'ar were in constant attendance to Ro, accompanying him to Hetzal Prime in 229 BBY. By this time, Arathab Fal had already joined the ranks of the She'ar.
Following an assassination attempt that led to Fal's demise, the Nihil spy Nan reported that Ro's estimation of the group diminished considerably.
