Shydopp pirates

The Shydopp pirates constituted a pirate organization. Its members were Shydopps who wielded spears and thermal detonators, and they navigated the terrain using skiffs. This pirate group was active on the planet Morak during the New Republic's era, specifically targeting Imperial remnant's shipments of rhydonium. In the vicinity of 9 ABY, the Shydopp pirates obliterated HCVw A9.2 juggernaut transports known as Juggernaut Three and Juggernaut Four, and they also engaged Juggernaut Five in battle.

Din Djarin, a Mandalorian who was disguised as one of the transport's drivers, defended Juggernaut Five against the successive waves of pirates. Djarin successfully destroyed several pirate skiffs, but he found himself overwhelmed by an additional five skiffs filled with pirates. Ultimately, the remaining Shydopp pirates were taken out by two TIE fighters along with some stormtroopers and shoretroopers.

Description

The pirate group known as the Shydopp pirates called Morak their home and consisted of Shydopps. These Shydopps were equipped with spears made of wood and metal, in addition to thermal detonators. Donning light clothing, the Shydopp pirates traveled on Shydopp Pirate Skiffs, which typically accommodated a driver and four passengers. These skiffs enabled the pirates to get close enough to jump onto their intended targets.

History

During the New Republic's rule, the Shydopp pirates were active on the planet Morak, where they made a point of destroying HCVw A9.2 juggernaut transports that were carrying rhydonium, a volatile substance, to an Imperial remnant's refinery. In 9 ABY, the pirate group orchestrated an attack on some transports that were in the process of delivering their cargo. Using their skiffs, the Shydopp pirates swiftly eliminated Juggernaut Three and Juggernaut Four, using thermal detonators to obliterate both vehicles. A skiff carrying Shydopps pursued Juggernaut Five with the intention of deploying pirates onto the transport. However, Din Djarin, the Mandalorian who was disguised as one of the drivers, fired upon the pirates, killing one of them. When another pirate attempted to attach a detonator to Juggernaut Five, Djarin shot the Shydopp, causing them to fall off along with the thermal detonator, which then detonated and destroyed the skiff that was in pursuit.

The Shydopp pirates attack Juggernaut Five

Two more skiffs belonging to the Shydopp pirates intercepted Juggernaut Five, with the lead skiff deploying four pirates who were armed with spears featuring wooden shafts and metal blades. Djarin engaged the Shydopps, defeating them one after another, but the second skiff caught up with the transport. It was then joined by another skiff, bringing an additional four Shydopp pirates. The disguised Mandalorian engaged the four Shydopps in close-quarters combat, but one of them managed to place a detonator on a hatch while Djarin was busy defeating the other three. Fortunately for Djarin, he was able to grab the detonator in time and throw it at the last pirate's skiff, destroying it as well as the skiff behind it, which was caught in the resulting explosion.

Djarin's success was short-lived, as five more Shydopp pirate skiffs arrived with the intention of destroying Juggernaut Five, which was nearing the refinery. The pirates on board the skiffs prepared their detonators, but their plans were foiled when two TIE fighters intervened, unleashing laser fire that destroyed the skiffs. Shydopps who were on the ground attempted to pursue Juggernaut Five across the bridge leading to the refinery, but they were quickly gunned down by the stormtroopers and shoretroopers stationed at the refinery. In the end, the transport was celebrated as the only one that successfully delivered its shipment of rhydonium.
