By 9 ABY, a faction of Imperial Remnants known as the Morak Imperial remnants had established itself on the planet of Morak. This group maintained a clandestine refinery specifically for processing rhydonium, a highly prized yet unstable fuel source essential for starship propulsion. Their operations faced disruption when Din Djarin, in collaboration with a diverse team of skilled fighters, including Boba Fett and Carasynthia Dune, infiltrated the refinery. Their mission was to pinpoint the whereabouts of an Imperial remnant group under the command of Moff Gideon. During the resulting conflict, Migs Mayfeld, a former Imperial sharpshooter, utilized Boba Fett's cycler rifle to obliterate an HCVw A9.2 juggernaut transport carrying unprocessed rhydonium, triggering a destructive cascade that severely crippled the facility.

On the jungle planet Morak, a covert rhydonium refining facility was operated by a splinter group of the Galactic Empire. Their military strength was composed of, at minimum, one platoon. Their ranks included numerous stormtroopers, shoretroopers, Juggernaut Pilots, Imperial weapons technicians, and Imperial officers. Their vehicular assets consisted of at least two TIE fighters and a minimum of four HCVw A9.2 juggernaut transports, with the latter being used to haul rhydonium shipments to the refinery. The command hierarchy included several of the aforementioned officers, notably Valin Hess, a veteran of Operation: Cinder on Burnin Konn. Hess expressed that the refined rhydonium would be used to unleash chaos across the galaxy, with the expectation that such devastation would pave the way for a renewed Galactic Empire. The facility's operations were managed by former members of the Imperial Security Bureau.

By 9 ABY, these remnant factions had become active, establishing themselves on the forested world of Morak. Their base of operations revolved around a concealed mining and refinery complex dedicated to processing rhydonium. This fuel source for starships was notoriously unstable in its unrefined state. After elements loyal to Moff Gideon's Imperial remnant captured Grogu, Din Djarin sought assistance from New Republic Marshal Carasynthia Dune, bounty hunters Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, and the former Imperial sharpshooter Migs Mayfeld. Their mission was to help him locate and rescue the child from Gideon. Mayfeld guided this diverse group to Morak, explaining that an internal Imperial terminal was required to pinpoint the location of Gideon's fleet. Mayfeld and Djarin hijacked an Imperial Combat Assault Transport, identified as Juggernaut Five, which was loaded with rhydonium. Despite facing an attack from the Shydopp pirates, they successfully drove the vehicle to the refinery, where they were unexpectedly greeted as heroes.
Once inside the base, Djarin successfully used the terminal to acquire the coordinates of Gideon's fleet. However, their progress was interrupted by Valin Hess, a former commanding officer of Mayfeld. Hess congratulated the disguised intruders and invited them for a drink. Mayfeld then confronted Hess about the loss of the latter's division during Operation: Cinder. Hess responded that the sacrifices were made for the greater good—the restoration of the Empire. Appalled by this justification, Mayfeld revealed his true allegiance, killing the officer with a blaster shot. The pair were then forced to fight their way out of the facility, with Dune and Shand providing covering fire with their expert sniper rifles. Djarin and Mayfeld successfully escaped aboard Slave I, with Fett piloting. As Slave I departed, Mayfeld used Fett's cycler rifle to target one of the Assault Transports. This caused its rhydonium cargo to explode, setting off a chain reaction that inflicted catastrophic damage to the base. Two TIE fighters attempted to intercept Slave I, but were destroyed when Fett deployed a seismic charge.
The Morak Imperial Remnants were featured in "Chapter 15: The Believer" of The Mandalorian, a Disney+ television series created by Jon Favreau in 2019. The episode was directed by Rick Famuyiwa and released on December 11, 2020. A Databank entry for Morak later confirmed that the refinery was operated by "Imperial Remnants," indicating the presence of multiple groups utilizing the facility.
