Venisa Doza's X-wing appeared, guided by a signal beacon.
Communication devices known as signal beacons were employed to broadcast the coordinates of starships and space stations within realspace; these devices were constructed as buoys. In the year 34 ABY, Captain Imanuel Doza of the Colossus platform deployed a signal beacon as he sought to meet with Venisa, his wife and a Resistance pilot, situated in the Outer Rim. However, the First Order Star Destroyer of the Resurgent-class, which was hunting the Colossus, intercepted the beacon's signal. Consequently, the station had to make an emergency jump to hyperspace after a brief skirmish just before Venisa's arrival.
