During the First Order-Resistance War, a brief conflict unfolded between the forces of the Colossus space station and the pursuing First Order forces. This confrontation occurred after Captain [Imanuel Doza](/article/imanuel_doza], the station's commander, activated a signal beacon with the hope of meeting his wife, the Resistance pilot Venisa Doza, for their daughter Torra's birthday. With its deflector shields nearing depletion, the Colossus was ultimately compelled to flee, narrowly missing Venisa's arrival at the designated meeting location. Subsequently, Agent Tierny captured Venisa aboard her Star Destroyer, the Thunderer. However, Venisa and her astromech droid Torch independently orchestrated their escape from the capital ship.
In the aftermath of the Amaxine warrior crisis in 28 ABY, Leia Organa, former New Republic Senator and Princess, established the Resistance. This paramilitary organization was formed to safeguard the New Republic from external dangers. Joining the Resistance were numerous veterans of the Rebel Alliance, sharing Leia's conviction that the First Order, a vestige of the "Old Empire," posed a threat to the New Republic and the galaxy. They felt the Galactic Senate wasn't adequately addressing the First Order's threat.
Venisa Doza, a former Rebellion veteran, became one of the Resistance members. Despite her love for her husband, Captain Imanuel Doza, and their daughter Torra, Venisa departed from her home driven by a desire to shield the galaxy and her family from the First Order. For the subsequent six years, Venisa would meet her husband and daughter in space on Torra's birthday, cherishing family time together. During this period, Venisa experienced various adventures on Bakura and Lehon, even evading the rogue First Order Security Bureau Agent Terex.
Following the Hosnian Cataclysm, Torra and Captain Doza became part of Team Colossus, which was led by Kazuda Xiono and Jarek Yeager. This team successfully expelled the First Order from the Colossus refueling platform. However, they were then compelled to take the refueling platform, along with its entire population, into hyperspace, leaving the planet Castilon behind. Even with the First Order still hunting for the station, Imanuel and Torra were determined to uphold their family tradition.

To establish communication with Venisa, Captain Doza activated a signal beacon in the depths of space. However, Commander Pyre and First Order Security Bureau Agent Tierny's Resurgent-class Star Destroyer intercepted their transmission, leading them to locate the Colossus and deploy numerous TIE fighters against the station.
The Colossus' turbolaser cannons and Ace Squadron, including Xiono piloting the Fireball, engaged the First Order in aerial combat, successfully destroying several TIEs. A TIE fighter pursued Xiono, but Torra, flying the Blue Ace, shot it down. However, the space station's deflector shields began to sustain damage from the ongoing enemy assault. Recognizing the danger to the station and its inhabitants, Yeager and Torra convinced a hesitant Captain Doza to order a retreat. After the Ace starfighters returned to their hangar, the Colossus jumped into hyperspace.
Captain Doza's difficult decision allowed the Colossus to successfully escape into hyperspace. Although the First Order failed to seize the refueling platform, they did capture Venisa, her astromech droid Torch, and their X-wing starfighter, who arrived shortly after the station's departure. Torch feigned deactivation, enabling him to free Venisa from her confinement. During her brief imprisonment, Doza befriended Tamara Ryvora and succeeded in prompting the young First Order TIE Fighter Pilot cadet to reassess her reasons for joining the First Order. Venisa and Torch then escaped after causing significant damage to a hangar bay and destroying several parked TIE fighters.
Torra and Imanuel were disheartened by the failed reunion. After learning about Venisa, Xiono persuaded Torra to reconsider her plan to rescue her mother. To uplift Torra's spirits, Xiono and the other Aces prepared a jelly cake with a gorg hidden inside. Imanuel was touched by the support his Aces showed for his daughter during a challenging time. Father and daughter also spent meaningful time together, reflecting on Venisa's dedication to the Resistance.
The skirmish involving a signal beacon was initially depicted in the Star Wars Resistance Season Two episode "Rendezvous Point," which premiered on Disney XD on November 24, 2019.
