Simi, a male human, was a member of the cult known as the Path of the Open Hand. Living on the planet Dalna in 382 BBY, young Simi resided with the Path of the Open Hand. Marda Ro, another member of the Path, cared for Simi and the other Littles. That year, Simi's willingness to share his porridge resulted in a blue honey glider becoming attached to him, leading to competition for the glider's attention between Simi and fellow Littles Hallisara and Ferali. When Ro and the Littles went to the market in the Dalnan city of Ferdan to distribute flowers, the glider landed on Little Jezra'lin's head, which upset Simi but delighted Jezra'lin, who declared it was their turn, before Ferali stated that it was a freely given gift.
At the same time, Kevmo Zink, a Jedi Padawan, arrived at the stand, and Ro greeted him while comforting Simi. Ro instructed Simi to give Zink a river rose, so the boy crawled under the stand's table and onto the street and held out the flower for the Jedi. To Ro's horror, Zink used The Force to take it telekinetically.
Following Zink's departure, Utalir, one of the Littles, inquired about the nature of Jedi. Jerid, another Little, responded that he had heard Jedi were warriors who battled monsters, which frightened Simi, causing him to scream. Subsequently, Ro took Simi and the other Littles to the construction site of the Path's flagship, the Gaze Electric, using it as an illustration of clarity and freedom. She then cautioned Simi and the rest that the Jedi did not possess these traits, while also reminding them of the Path's core belief that the Force should not be used by anyone. Simi then placed his hand in Marda's, and she responded with a squeeze.
Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland included Simi in their 2022 novel, The High Republic: Path of Deceit.
