Sol's lightsaber, a lightsaber with a single blade of royal blue hue, was the signature weapon of the esteemed Jedi Master known as Sol. During the events of 132 BBY, this weapon sustained damage. This occurred when Sol was disarmed by Mae-ho Aniseya, a former Sith assassin, in the midst of a duel on Brendok.
Following the combat, the damaged lightsaber was recovered by Verosha Aniseya, Sol's former Jedi Padawan and twin sister to Mae. Verosha, fueled by rage, bled the weapon's kyber crystal while simultaneously strangling Sol with the Force as retribution for his involvement in the death of the twins' mother. Subsequently, Osha claimed the lightsaber and took it with her as she began her Sith training under the guidance of a mysterious figure named Qimir, transforming it into her own Sith lightsaber.

At its core, Sol's lightsaber drew its power from a kyber crystal housed securely within its hilt.
Originally, Sol's lightsaber featured a simple silver hilt adorned with black grips and strategically placed divots near the emitter. As a single-bladed weapon, it projected a blade of brilliant royal blue. However, during the confrontation with Mae-ho Aniseya on Brendok, the lightsaber suffered damage, resulting in a chipped emitter and exposing the kyber crystal within. Later, this very crystal was corrupted and bled red by Osha, Mae's twin, after she used the Force to choke Sol, avenging the deaths of their mother and the other members of their coven.

Back in 148 BBY, while stationed on the planet Brendok as part of a surveying mission alongside fellow Jedi Masters Kelnacca and Indara, as well as his Padawan, Torbin, Sol proudly displayed his lightsaber to the young Verosha Aniseya, remarking that he believed she possessed the potential to become a great Jedi.
Later that same evening, feigning concern for the safety of Osha and her twin, Sol returned to the fortress where the girls' coven resided. Following a heated argument with their mother, Sol activated his lightsaber and fatally struck her to prevent her escape with Mae, mistakenly identifying the girl as Osha.
The death of Mother Aniseya ignited a furious response from her partner, Mother Koril, and the remaining members of the coven. The witches seized control of Kelnacca, forcing him to confront Sol and Torbin. Sol skillfully wielded his lightsaber to defend himself throughout the intense conflict. Eventually, Master Indara managed to subdue the Wookiee Jedi.

Sixteen years later, specifically in 132 BBY, Sol, accompanied by his apprentice Jecki Lon, Jedi Knight Yord Fandar, and five other Jedi, journeyed to the planet Khofar while pursuing Mae for the murders of Masters Indara and Torbin. Their mission was to warn Master Kelnacca that the young Sith assassin was hunting him. During their time there, Sol skillfully used his lightsaber to eliminate an umbramoth that had attacked Osha Aniseya.
That very night, after discovering Kelnacca's lifeless body, Sol raised his lightsaber in defiance against a mysterious dark warrior who claimed to be a Sith. The ensuing duel resulted in the deaths of all the Jedi present, except for Sol, who valiantly defended himself until Osha created a distraction by unleashing a swarm of umbramoths.
The next day, having successfully captured Mae, Sol returned to Brendok, hoping to demonstrate the existence of a vergence in the Force to Master Vernestra Rwoh. Following Mae's escape, Sol pursued her through the dilapidated fortress of her coven, where he once again encountered "The Stranger." The two engaged in a prolonged duel, which Sol ultimately won by disarming the Sith and destroying his lightsaber. However, the unexpected reappearance of Mae prevented Sol from restraining the Sith. The former Sith assassin then disarmed Sol of his own lightsaber, tossing it aside and causing damage to its emitter matrix.

While Sol's attention was diverted by Mae, Osha seized the opportunity to retrieve the discarded weapon. As she strangled Sol, demanding answers for his role in her mother's murder, Osha inadvertently came into contact with the exposed crystal within Sol's lightsaber. Overwhelmed by her intense emotions, she unintentionally poured her anger into the crystal, causing it to bleed and turn red.
Rejecting the pity offered by The Stranger, Osha ignited the lightsaber while the bleeding process was still underway. To the shock of all three dark warriors, the blade, once a vibrant royal blue, transformed into a deep scarlet hue. After escaping the fortress and accepting the Sith's offer of training, Osha departed with the weapon, now a Sith lightsaber, and traveled to an unknown oceanic planet.
Sol's lightsaber made its debut in "Lost / Found," the inaugural episode of the first season of the live-action series The Acolyte, which premiered on June 4, 2024. A sneak peek of the lightsaber was initially presented in a trailer shown exclusively at Celebration Europe during the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase on April 7, 2023. Subsequently, it was showcased publicly in the official trailers for the series, which were released on the official Star Wars YouTube channel on March 19, 2024. Later, its official designation as "Sol's lightsaber" was confirmed in its dedicated Databank entry on StarWars.com, which was published by June 19, 2024.
When selecting the colors for the various lightsabers featured in the show, showrunner Leslye Headland prioritized aesthetic appeal, carefully considering the opponents each lightsaber wielder would face. An exception was made for Sol's lightsaber, which Headland stated would always be blue.
