Spearhead was an age-old city fortress situated on the world of Naboo. It served as the base of operations for the rebellious Gungan chieftain Boss Rogoe. Thousands of years prior to the rise of the Galactic Empire, during a conflict among the Gungan tribes, Spearhead became the refuge for those resisting Boss Gallo, a Gungan who aimed to unify all the tribes. Gallo's forces obliterated Spearhead, leading to the construction of a new Gungan [city](/article/capital], Otoh Gunga, directly above its ruins. Gallo's original foundations then became known as the Ancient Quarter.
The initial reference to Spearhead within the official Star Wars canon occurred in Nexus of Power, a 2016 sourcebook created by Fantasy Flight Games for the Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG. Within the Star Wars Legends timeline, Spearhead was first referenced in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds: Prima's Official Strategy Guide by Steven L. Kent, which was published on November 7, 2001. Subsequently, it appeared in the LucasArts game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, which launched on November 11 of that same year.
