Continuity

While the timeline of Dark Horse Comics, as presented in their comics around the time of Star Wars: Crimson Empire, alongside The Essential Chronology, The New Essential Chronology, and the Dark Horse Comics omnibus edition of Dark Lords of the Sith, places Dark Lords of the Sith in 3997 BBY, the timeline featured in the article Straight from the Horse's Mouth: A Guide to the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Universe, Part 1, which appeared in Star Wars Insider 26, indicates that the Political uprising of the Empress Teta system and the Conclave at Deneba occurred in 3996 BBY, and Exar Kun's transformation into a Dark Lord of the Sith took place in 3991 BBY. Furthermore, the timeline in Dark Horse comics like Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi — The Golden Age of the Sith and Star Wars: The Comics Companion sets Dark Lords of the Sith around 3992 BBY, approximately six years after The Freedon Nadd Uprising.
