Teeloo

Teeloo was a Rodian pilot of the male persuasion, see male, who possessed and operated the Neeva-Beelo, a YT-1210 light freighter during the era known as the Clone Wars.

Biography

Back in 32 BBY, Teeloo came from a sizable family, including six sisters, four brothers, and at least one aunt and one uncle. Furthermore, he had an unspecified number of cousins, who were not well-liked by their father.

An uncle of his gifted him the light transport YT-1210 Neeva-Beelo, primarily to irritate Teeloo's cousins, who had hoped to inherit it. The uncle also provided him with some fundamental flying instruction and a small amount of cargo, consisting of animal hides, Rodian ale, and other assorted items, to help him begin a business. Teeloo accepted these gifts, although he suspected that his cousins were quite upset about it. Teeloo's intention was to bring his mother, aunt, and siblings along when he made the jump to the system where he intended to spend the rest of his life, and remain there—he detested astrogation.

One evening, Teeloo detected someone attempting to break into the Neeva-Beelo, and assuming it was his cousins, he took off immediately. He sought out a remote system to travel to, eventually discovering the Cularin system. His hyperdrive malfunctioned upon exiting hyperspace. In search of repairs, he headed for Tolea Biqua.

Unfortunately, Teeloo's lack of flying experience caused him to overlook a small snubfighter near his ship as he aligned for his approach—he assumed the sensors would automatically alert him without needing to check them. He collided with the fighter, which belonged to a member of the Blood Raptors gang, sending it spiraling away. He remained hidden in his ship for a day, but needing to sell his cargo and begin the repairs, he eventually ventured out of the Neeva-Beelo. Upon doing so, the Blood Raptors were waiting.

The Raptors, under the leadership of Scar Blenner, assaulted Teeloo and confiscated his cargo. They also threatened to seize his ship unless he could defeat one of them in a race through Eskaron the following day. If he managed to win, they promised to return his cargo—although they secretly intended to keep Teeloo's ship regardless of the race's outcome. The cargo had already been removed, and the Blood Raptors were merely inflicting some additional pain to remind him of their presence when a group of Cularin's heroic individuals happened upon the scene and drove the Raptors away.

Teeloo's rescuers offered their assistance in helping him win the race. They potentially repaired numerous issues with the Neeva-Beelo and served as his crew during the race against the Raptor pilot Gael Kinner. The race encompassed The Spiral, Skinning the Mynock, and the Cavern of Teeth in Eskaron. Subsequently, the first pilot to exit the planet had the option to choose the final leg: either navigate through the Cularin asteroid belt and return, or visit the perilous city of Nub Saar before heading back to Tolea Biqua.

Midway through the race, Teeloo's opponent inadvertently destroyed a ship in another race sponsored by Cularin's crimelord, Nirama. This brought Teeloo to Nirama's attention. They also had a brief encounter with the local pirates, who operated from the asteroid belt.

Following the race, the Blood Raptors decided to seize the ship. Nirama's men intervened in the conflict and brought all parties before Nirama. The crimelord determined that the Blood Raptors were responsible for the destruction of his ship and punished them accordingly. He offered Teeloo the opportunity to have the Neeva-Beelo fully repaired, with Teeloo working for him to repay the debt.

Teeloo was grateful to Nirama for the opportunity and served him faithfully, even if it meant occasionally engaging in smuggling activities. His service to Nirama was not exclusive, and he undertook other jobs around the Cularin system, including some work for Renna's Transport Service. Teeloo and Renna developed a friendship that eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship. Teeloo's loyalty to Nirama ultimately led to his demise when Riboga the Hutt moved to reclaim control of Cularin's criminal operations towards the end of the Clone Wars. Riboga targeted those who worked for Nirama, and Teeloo was among those killed.

Personality and traits

Teeloo was a Rodian known for his kind and agreeable nature. While not exceptionally intelligent, he was dependable and trustworthy. He possessed a sense of pride, refusing to allow Renna to settle his debt to Nirama on his behalf. He spoke Basic with a noticeable lisp.

His hasty departure from Rodia disrupted his plans to bring his family with him. It remains uncertain whether he returned for them before the Cularin system vanished for nearly a decade.
