Th'er

A female being, known as Th'er, served as the Priestess of Wood on the planet Bri'n. Before the Invasion of Naboo transpired, a dispute erupted between her people and the Metal Clan, which prompted the Jedi Order to dispatch Qui-Gon Jinn alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi to Bri'n with the goal of achieving a peaceful resolution. After the Jedi were cornered by the Metal Clan's forces, they were compelled to evacuate Th'er from the planet, transporting her to Coruscant for her own safety. Th'er initially favored resorting to violence against the Metal Clan, but Jinn managed to convince her to instead seek out allies on Coruscant.

Biography

Civil war

In her role as the Priestess of Wood on the planet Bri'n, Th'er possessed a profound spiritual bond with the trees, and she also wielded a degree of authority over the world's people. Her native world became embroiled in a conflict as the Metal Clan endeavored to eradicate her trees. Upon learning of this predicament, the Jedi Order dispatched two Jedi, specifically Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the intention of finding a harmonious solution. Th'er engaged in discussions with Jinn, and together they attempted to negotiate with the Metal Clan. However, these negotiations proved unsuccessful, and they found themselves pursued by the Clan's forces. As the Metal Clan persisted relentlessly, Jinn contacted his Padawan, instructing him to prepare their Eta-class shuttle.

Qui-Gon Jinn escapes with Th'er.

Th'er and the Jedi Master found themselves surrounded by the Metal Clan's forces, and their leader issued a threat to Th'er, asserting that her trees would meet their end either by her consent or through her blood. Th'er maintained her composure under Jinn's protection, but her focus was disrupted when the Jedi seized her. Th'er questioned Jinn's actions, as he recognized that a peaceful resolution was unattainable at that moment, and he had summoned their shuttle. As the Metal Clan's leader commanded his forces to thwart their escape, Jinn leapt upwards into the shuttle, carrying an irate Th'er. Upon discovering that they were en route to Coruscant, Th'er vehemently protested that she could not abandon her trees, but Jinn reassured her that the planet's laws would prevent the Metal Clan from harming the trees without her explicit consent or bloodshed.

Finding balance

Upon beholding Coruscant, Th'er expressed her dissatisfaction with the metal-dominated city, perceiving the planet as an abhorrent creation. Jinn assured her of her safety, but Th'er retorted that she would only find solace in the deaths of every member of the Metal Clan, imploring him to employ his lightsaber to eliminate them. Jinn refused, citing that such an act would contravene the Jedi code. Th'er countered that the Jedi had aligned themselves with her cause, and that they were reputed to be formidable warriors rather than cowards.

Qui-Gon Jinn meets Th'er on Coruscant.

The designation of "warrior" unsettled Jinn, who sensed that the Jedi were losing their way. He sought guidance from the Force, venturing to an unidentified world. Upon his return to Coruscant, Jinn encountered Th'er, who was admiring small garden areas within the city. Jinn suggested that she could allocate her time to more productive endeavors, prompting Th'er to inquire about his meaning. Jinn explained that the Metal Clan had enlisted the support of influential allies, and he proposed that she do the same. Th'er resisted the idea of seeking external assistance, fearing that outsiders would deprive Bri'n of all that its inhabitants held dear. Jinn disagreed, asserting that she could strike a balance between enriching her people and adapting their way of life, and that numerous individuals from diverse worlds on Coruscant had encountered challenges akin to hers. This perspective shifted Th'er's stance, and she resolved to afford the potential allies that Jinn had mentioned an opportunity to demonstrate their capacity to assist.

Personality and traits

Th'er was connected with trees.

As a priestess of wood, Th'er possessed a deep affinity for trees and preferred natural environments over artificial constructs. Due to the antagonism of the Metal Clan, Th'er harbored a strong aversion to metal-dominated cities such as those on Coruscant. She displayed protectiveness toward her trees during the conflict with the Metal Clan, and she was prepared to eliminate the entire clan to safeguard them. Legends and hearsay had led her to believe that the Jedi were warriors, and she was taken aback by Qui-Gon Jinn's retreat from the battle. She also held the conviction that outsiders would corrupt the way of life on Bri'n, but Jinn ultimately persuaded her to seek offworld assistance against the Metal Clan.
