The animated short film, entitled "The Prisoner of Tatooine," represents the fourth installment within the LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars miniseries. Its initial release occurred on November 1, 2018, and it was broadcast via the YouTube channel associated with Disney XD. Later, this short was incorporated into the larger episode known as "From Trenches to Wrenches: The Roger Story." A flashback sequence contained within this short occurs concurrently with events depicted in the LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures Season One episode "Race on Tatooine."

The narrative commences with the Rebel Alliance fleet, including the flagship Home One, enduring an assault from the forces of the Imperial Navy. Admiral Ackbar issues commands for the X-wings to engage the enemy and for the weapons teams to unleash fire upon the TIE fighters. Roger, who is occupied with sweeping duties, interrupts Admiral Ackbar, remarking that the Admiral's commanding style reminds him of Chapter 129 from his autobiography, From Trenches to Wrenches: The Roger Story, which is titled: "The Prisoner of Tatooine."
During a period when the Freemakers found themselves on Tatooine, providing maintenance to Ben Quadinaros' podracer, Zander Freemaker dispatches Roger to procure a podracer compressor. Before Roger can complete the statement "that someone will roll by", a group of Jawas makes their entrance aboard a sandcrawler. Roger vocalizes "Jawas," but Zander misinterprets this as sarcasm. Roger approaches the Jawas and communicates his need for a compressor. In response, the Jawas aim ion blasters at him, compelling him to ascend a magnetic suction tube.
Within the sandcrawler's storage area, Roger discovers a compressor and encounters a GNK-series power droid. Roger attempts to leave the sandcrawler via a rear hatch, only to realize that it has already departed Mos Espa. Consequently, Roger devises a plan to sabotage the engines by filling the engine room with scrap metal. He is subsequently pulled into the grinder and ejected into a village inhabited by Tusken Raiders.
Roger's landing results in the destruction of a tent, and the droid manages to reassemble itself. He is then confronted by several Tusken Raiders. The Jawas reappear to reclaim him, leading to a confrontation with the Tusken Raiders. Roger capitalizes on the ensuing chaos to escape back to Ben Quadinaros' garage. Zander reprimands Roger for his tardiness, but the droid retorts that his comment was "sarcasm by the way."
Returning to the present timeline, Admiral Ackbar questions the relevance of Roger's narrative. Roger explains that expressing gratitude is appropriate when someone performs their best. As the TIE fighters initiate another attack, Admiral Ackbar orders the raising of the aft deflector shields. Heeding Roger's message, he expresses his appreciation to everyone for their contributions.
