The Twins, also known as the Hutt Twins, were a Hutt brother and sister duo who functioned as crime lords during the time of the New Republic Era. These two were related to Jabba Desilijic Tiure, the lord of crime on Tatooine, being his cousins. When Boba Fett took Bib Fortuna's place on the throne of Tatooine, becoming the new Daimyo, the Twins journeyed to Mos Espa to confront Fett. Their goal was to lay claim to Jabba's territory. They were transported through Mos Espa on a litter, accompanied by numerous servants, a drummer, and Krrsantan, the former-gladiator turned bounty hunter.
The Twins dispatched Black Krrsantan to kill Lord Fett. Following Krrsantan's failure and subsequent capture, the Twins arrived to offer an apology to Lord Fett, presenting him with a rancor as a sign of respect. They also announced that they were leaving Tatooine, explaining that they had learned that Mayor Mok Shaiz had already promised Jabba's former holdings to the Pyke Syndicate, and they were not interested in fighting over what they considered a "worthless rock."
The Twins made their debut in "Chapter 2: The Tribes of Tatooine," an episode of The Book of Boba Fett which is a Disney+ series, on January 5, 2022. According to the Simplified and Traditional Chinese subtitles displayed on Disney+ during the episode, the female Hutt is actually the younger sister (妹妹, mèimei) of the male Hutt, despite them being referred to as "twins." This line is delivered in Huttese, regardless of the audio language selected by the viewer.
