Tyus sector

The Tyus sector represented a designated sector of space that encompassed the Pyrlix Miasma. This sector, during the High Republic Era, was situated within the territory of the Galactic Republic. In the year 228 BBY, Lina Soh, the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, received information concerning a strike affecting an entire system within the Ossiathora system. This strike was impeding the collection of a specific grain required for the creation of a specialized alcohol. This alcohol, in turn, was essential for cleaning engines that became immobilized within the Pyrlix Miasma, and she contemplated the potential consequences of this disruption. Her reports also detailed a range of possible solutions to the problem, but before she could delve deeper, her focus shifted to another pressing matter.

Behind the scenes

The introduction of the Tyus sector into current canon occurred in the novel The High Republic: Temptation of the Force.

Within the established Star Wars canon, the Tyus sector received a mention in the 2024 novel titled Temptation of the Force. This book, authored by Tessa Gratton, was released as a contribution to Phase III of the Star Wars: The High Republic multi-platform narrative.

The Tyus sector initially appeared within the Star Wars Legends continuity. Its first mention was in the Online Companion available on StarWars.com, which supplemented the 2009 reference book, The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. The Online Companion specified that the Zelos system, and consequently the planet Zelos II, were located within this sector. Zelos II was originally presented and depicted in the 1992 roleplaying sourcebook Planets of the Galaxy, Volume Two, written by John Terra and published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, thereby retroactively establishing the Tyus sector's initial visual representation.
