Ugor

Ugors, a sentient form of life, were a blob-like species residing within the galaxy. The High Republic Era saw OrbaLin, an Archivist, become the first of his kind to be accepted into the ranks of the Jedi Order. In the year 13 BBY, during the Imperial Era, a male Ugor named HarrGick could be found at Coronet Spaceport on the planet Corellia. These beings could extend pseudopods, which served as limbs, and Tyro Viveca noted that they emitted a disagreeable odor.

Biology and appearance

Ugors, a sentient species, were blob-shaped organisms that could alter their form and assume various colors, most often green. They utilized biosuits to take on a more humanoid appearance. They possessed the ability to generate pseudopods that functioned as limbs, and Tyro Viveca found their scent to be offensive. Furthermore, Ugors had the capacity to mold their bodies to facilitate speech, as well as to trap objects or individuals within themselves. Some Ugors exhibited Force-sensitive traits. Their respiratory system differed significantly from that of humans, as they did not breathe in the traditional sense.

The Ugor named OrbaLin displayed a unique capability: he could duplicate himself into several distinct bodies. However, these separate bodies operated independently, with no shared awareness of each other's actions. For instance, one of OrbaLin's duplicates participated in an assault on the planet Mulita, while another was involved in the defense of the Valo Republic Fair. The events transpiring on Valo remained unknown to the Jedi on Mulita until communication was established. Repeated duplication proved detrimental to an Ugor's mental state; OrbaLin suffered mental impairment due to his extensive duplications. While a biosuit might give the impression of a head, Ugors lacked this body part. Unlike other species, injuries to the head were not necessarily fatal. When Lourna Dee of the Tempest Runner shot OrbaLin in what appeared to be his "head," the fact that he was duplicated across multiple bodies amplified the severity of the injury.

Society and culture

When venturing out into the galaxy, Ugors commonly used environmental suits. These suits aided them in projecting a humanoid form more easily, using their pseudopods to control the suit's movements.

Ugors in the galaxy

During the High Republic Era, Archivist OrbaLin of the Jedi became the first Ugor to gain entry into the Jedi Order. He later took on the role of resident archivist on the Starlight Beacon space station. During the Imperial Era, HarrGick, an Ugor, was located at Coronet Spaceport on Corellia in 13 BBY. Tyro Viveca, a hunter, recounted her experience of traveling aboard an Ugor starship to Kashyyyk in the Smuggler's Guide, expressing her distaste for their odor and questioning their intelligence.
