A rocky moon, without a name and situated close to Jabiim, served as the location for a confrontation between [Obi-Wan Kenobi](/article/obi-wan_kenobi], a Jedi Master, and Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, during 9 BBY (in terms of the galactic year).
This moon was without designation. In 9 BBY, [Obi-Wan Kenobi](/article/obi-wan_kenobi], a Jedi Master, after having escaped Jabiim with members of the Hidden Path, resolved to travel to the moon. He had come to the realization that Darth Vader, the Sith Lord—who was actually Kenobi's former Padawan Anakin Skywalker—was prioritizing the hunt for him over the larger Path network. Accompanied only by the toy droid L0-LA59, whose presence on his ship Kenobi only discovered upon landing, Kenobi left the Path's JT-731 Broadhorn transport aboard a smaller vessel and landed within the rocky pinnacles. Vader, prioritizing Kenobi over the Path's escape, pursued him aboard a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle and landed in the dry lands bordering the rocky formation.
Upon seeing his old master outside the rock structures, they exchanged words. Vader questioned Kenobi's intention to kill him, to which Kenobi responded that he would do what he must. Vader echoed this sentiment, and then the two engaged in a historic lightsaber duel that moved from the dry lands into the rocky pillars. Vader initially gained the upper hand, but Kenobi, fueled by his hope for the future, found renewed strength and defeated the Sith Lord, damaging Vader's armor in the process. During their confrontation, Kenobi was compelled to acknowledge that Anakin Skywalker was "dead," thus solidifying the moon's significance. Kenobi then departed as Vader called out to him, traveling to Tatooine to protect young Luke Skywalker and subsequently returning L0-LA59 to Princess Leia Organa on Alderaan. Vader then departed to report to his master, the Sith Lord Darth Sidious.
The unidentified barren moon made its debut in the sixth episode of the Obi-Wan Kenobi television series, which was broadcast on June 22, 2022. The moon scenes were shot using the Volume, a virtual LED set.
