Unidentified fugitive camp

A settlement arose amidst the scrap heaps of Level 1782 on the planet of Coruscant during the Imperial Era under the Galactic Empire's rule. This settlement housed hundreds of individuals, victims of Imperial persecution, encompassing members of the Herglic and Mon Calamari species, alongside at least nine other groups, including some near-humans. Constructed within the wreckage of a downed starship, the settlement comprised improvised shelters, tents, and small trading posts, illuminated by lanterns and batteries, and equipped with stoves and water-collection devices. Not long after the destruction of Alderaan, two Alderaanian refugees, Anandra and Santigo Milon, were guided to this settlement by a Herglic criminal they encountered on Level 1997. While seeking the refuge they had heard of on Level 1782, they came across a Mon Calamari inhabitant of the settlement. Initially distrustful, they eventually allowed this individual to guide them to the settlement, where their arrival was anticipated. Consumed by her recent trauma, Anandra began to cry upon reaching the settlement, and the other inhabitants offered her comfort and care.

Behind the scenes

The settlement initially appeared in "One Thousand Levels Down," a short story featured in Star Wars Insider 151 in the year 2014.
