The leviathan krayt dragon, a subspecies of the krayt dragon, distinguished itself with sixteen limbs and the ability to project a highly corrosive ichor at its enemies. On one occasion, Din Djarin and Cobb Vanth assisted a group of Tusken Raiders in their victory against such a creature.

The leviathan krayt dragon, a member of the broader krayt dragon family, possessed sixteen limbs, each ending in five clawed digits, a tail covered in spines, and a sizable head shielded by bony plates. As a defense mechanism, it could eject a harmful ichor directly from its mouth, which dissolved the organic matter of its target. Similar to other krayt dragons, it was capable of forming pearls within its gizzard; these pearls were highly prized by jewelers, craftspeople, and wealthy collectors.
This species, much like its relative, the greater krayt dragon, would bury itself within the shifting sands, emerging to consume its prey. Given sufficient sustenance, the dragon would also enter a prolonged state of hibernation, and it was rumored to be able to detect the vibrations of a passing starship.
Back in 3 ABY, a krayt dragon pearl was pilfered from Tusken Raiders by a group of bandits. The criminal Kay Vess successfully retrieved the pearl for the Tuskens in return for the Sullustan Hoss, who was being held captive by them. During her mission to find a tooth from a sarlacc's secondary mouth, Vess crossed paths with a krayt dragon.

A krayt dragon had devoured a sarlacc and subsequently made its home in the abandoned pit. This particular dragon became a problem for a Tusken Raider tribe and the inhabitants of the nearby Mos Pelgo; it frequently preyed on their livestock, damaged their property, and posed a general threat to their safety. This specific specimen was eventually slain by the combined efforts of the Tusken Raiders and citizens, aided by Din Djarin and [Cobb Vanth], although it had managed to kill many of its attackers by spraying them with its acidic venom. The Tusken Raider tribe claimed much of its meat and also its pearl. The ribs of the beast were then used as part of the Mos Pelgo saloon's construction, and a group of Jawas used the dragon's skull to decorate their sandcrawler.
The Krayt Dragon species made its debut in the initial episode of The Mandalorian's second season, which was released on October 30, 2020.
