An ST-series super tactical droid served the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. In the year 19 BBY, this droid accompanied General Grievous to Utapau. Acting on orders from Count Dooku, it commanded a Separatist supply ship with the mission of acquiring a massive Kyber crystal from Sugi Arms dealer Endente, who was located on Utapau. While Grievous went to the planet's surface to interact with Endente, the droid remained on the supply ship. The Pau'ans ultimately secured the crystal, and battle droids loaded it onto a Separatist transport. However, the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker escaped Grievous and pursued the shuttle aboard a stolen freighter. Grievous ordered the super tactical droid to destroy the Jedi's vessel before it could board the supply ship. Although the freighter was shot down, the Jedi escaped in two escape pods and successfully boarded the supply ship soon after the crystal arrived. The damaged shuttle then collided with the supply ship's hyperdrive, preventing Grievous and the droid from escaping the system and trapping them above Utapau. The Jedi tried to steal the crystal, but the large droid presence on the station, along with Grievous' arrival, stopped them. Instead, Kenobi destroyed the crystal by overheating it with multiple blasts from several unmanned Armored Assault Tanks in the main hangar. As the Jedi and Grievous fled the ship, the droids, including the super tactical droid, were destroyed when the destruction of the crystal vaporized the supply ship.
