Ushos O. Statura, a male human from the planet Garel, served as a high-ranking officer and admiral within the ranks of the Resistance. With a background rooted in science, Statura, who considered Garel his homeworld, played a pivotal role in bolstering the Resistance's efforts during their conflict against the First Order. Stationed at the command center on D'Qar, he was instrumental in formulating the assault strategy targeting Starkiller Base, the First Order's formidable superweapon. His accurate prediction that crippling the thermal oscillator would ensure the success of the attack ultimately led to the superweapon's demise.
Prior to the outbreak of the Galactic Civil War, Ushos O. Statura came into existence on the world of Garel. As a young man, he actively participated in combat against the forces of the Galactic Empire in order to free his homeworld. Following the Battle of Endor, Statura dedicated himself to a career path within the applied sciences.
Statura was later enlisted by General Leia Organa to oversee the ship procurement and logistical operations for her Resistance forces, attaining the rank of admiral. Organa frequently sought Statura's counsel and valued his perspective, keeping him close at hand. He bestowed the Rieekan Ribbon for Bravery in Battle upon Poe Dameron in recognition of his contribution to the rescue of Admiral Ackbar. After the destruction of the Hosnian system, he played a key role in devising the assault plan against Starkiller Base.
In the aftermath of the attack, as the First Order reorganized to destroy the Resistance base on D'Qar, Statura attended the briefing and voiced his surprise at the enemy's rapid approach. Statura, along with the majority of High Command, perished during the Battle of Oetchi when the First Order targeted the Resistance flagship, the Raddus.
After the Battle of Crait, Temmin Wexley and Karé Kun journeyed to meet with the retired Wedge Antilles and Norra Wexley, informing them of Statura's passing, alongside other members of the Resistance leadership, including Admiral Gial Ackbar and Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo.
Ken Leung played Ushos O. Statura in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which was released in 2015 and served as the initial installment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Leung had previously portrayed Miles Straume on the television program Lost, which was created by J.J. Abrams, who also directed, produced, and co-authored The Force Awakens.
