Willi

Willi, a talkative human specializing in propulsion, journeyed to the planet of Ferrix to utilize his currency. During 5 BBY, he found himself on a shuttle ferry headed to Ferrix City, where he struck up a conversation with fellow traveler Luthen Rael as the shuttle circled the city, awaiting its turn to dock.

Despite Rael's lack of engagement, Willi voiced his grievances about the high cost of transport on Ferrix, sharing details about his profession and past experiences on the planet. Upon the shuttle's arrival, Willi exchanged a few final words with Rael before they went their separate ways.

Biography

Propulsion passenger

Willi sat with Luthen Rael aboard Engine 22.

Willi, a human who worked in propulsion, specializing in enhancements and boosters, conducted his business on Ferrix. This world was a pivotal hub for salvage operations, where he often spent his money. In the past, travelers could reach Ferrix City via a groundcarry that traversed the surrounding desolate lands. However, its cost was so prohibitive that Willi felt its impact on his mouth even a week later.

By 5 BBY, Willi had become a frequent visitor to Ferrix. During that year, he arrived in Ferrix City aboard Engine 22, a shuttle ferry that had replaced the groundcarry. As they approached the city, the shuttle joined a queue of others awaiting landing clearance, circling in the meantime. It was during this circling that Willi initiated a conversation with Luthen Rael, another passenger seated across from him by the window. The propulsion expert began by complaining about the circling and then about the overall expense of visiting Ferrix.

A new friend

After inquiring about the parking fees for Rael's ship and finally eliciting a response, Willi moved to sit beside Rael. He then reminisced about the now-defunct groundcarry, again lamenting its high price. Despite Rael's silence regarding his own profession, Willi proceeded to describe his own job. As the ship banked, he gazed out the window with Rael at the city of Ferrix below.

Luthen Rael and Willi parted ways at the Ferrix Terminus.

Willi then shared the common belief that anything worthwhile could be found on Ferrix, offering Rael a friendly look that earned him a polite chuckle. Upon arrival at the Ferrix Terminal, Rael disembarked, and Willi quickly caught up, inquiring if he planned to stay at Hotel Rix. When Rael declined, Willi congratulated him on his wise decision. As they parted ways, Willi called out to the smiling Rael, advising him to safeguard his wallet.

Personality and traits

Willi was chatty and complained to Luthen Rael about the costs on Ferrix.

Willi was an outgoing individual who considered the inhabitants of Ferrix audacious for their exorbitant prices on transport and lodging for visitors. He regarded the Hotel Rix as the epitome of price gouging on Ferrix, and he also felt that the fees for parking a ship, using the shuttle ferry, and the groundcarry that preceded it were all excessively high.

Nevertheless, he remained convinced that these costs were immutable and that Ferrix held the key to finding anything of value. He wasn't surprised by Rael's reluctance to disclose his occupation, attributing it to the prevailing atmosphere of distrust. He later cautioned Rael to protect his wallet after they landed. By 5 BBY, Willi considered himself old. He had white hair, fair skin, and brown eyes.

Equipment

While on Ferrix, Willi sported a brown jacket over a padded, orange tunic and a white shirt. He also wore matching pants, brown shoes, and a brown hat equipped with a silver earpiece and mouthpiece over his right ear. The propulsion specialist carried three devices in his left breast pocket during the shuttle ferry ride and transported a pair of silver suitcases.
