Ferrix City was a city situated on the planet of Ferrix, which itself was found in the Free Trade sector. It served as the residence for Maarva Carassi Andor, her spouse Clem Andor, and their adopted offspring, Cassian Jeron Andor. Known for its strong rebellious spirit, it was the location of a protest directed against the Galactic Republic in 18 BBY, an attack launched against a Pre-Mor security Inspection team in 5 BBY, and a substantial riot opposing the Galactic Empire later in the same year.
Ferrix City, positioned on the planet Ferrix within the Free Trade sector of the Morlani system, demonstrated allegiance to the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Following the conclusion of the war, it fell under Imperial control sometime after the Proclamation of the New Order, marked by the arrival of the initial Imperial clone trooper units in the city, accompanied by Imperial officers in 18 BBY. The inhabitants of the town exhibited apprehension at the sight of the incoming administration, leading a radical group of Ferrixians to initiate a spontaneous protest, hurling stones at the clone units as they marched along the main thoroughfare, Rix Road. The commanding officer issued an order for the units participating in the parade to pivot and aim their weapons at the demonstrators, resulting in the swift arrest of all involved. Some individuals, including Clem Andor, were subjected to public execution, with their remains left hanging in Fountain Square for several days following the demonstration. Despite the Empire's subsequent departure from the planet, sentiments of distrust and animosity towards the new regime lingered among the local population, who had not forgotten the tragic fate of their neighbors.
Sometime before 5 BBY, Ferrix, along with the rest of the Morlani system, was transferred to the control of the Preox-Morlana corporation. The corporation, along with its security force, known as the Pre-Mor Enforcement, generally preferred to leave the planet undisturbed, holding the belief that "locals had their own way of doing things." The most recent census was conducted in 11 BBY, and the locals rarely encountered any corpos, whom they referred to as "the blues". However, this period of calm was disrupted when Cassian Jeron Andor, a local resident, traveled to the system capital, Morlana One, in search of his sister, Kerri. During his journey, he engaged in a conflict with two local corpos, Verlo Skiff and Kravas Drezzer, ultimately resulting in their deaths. Syril Karn, the Deputy Inspector of Pre-Mor, assumed responsibility for the case and swiftly identified Andor, tracing him back to his hometown on Ferrix. Karn then organized a Pre-Mor Security Inspection team, led by Sergeant Linus Mosk, with the objective of apprehending him. Upon arriving in the city aboard three Mobile Tac-Pods, the corpos encountered resistance from the locals as they attempted to interrogate Maarva Carassi Andor, Andor's beloved mother and former President of the local Daughters of Ferrix. A crowd quickly formed outside her house, harassing the officers by striking metallic objects along their path and removing street signs to disorient and intimidate them. The confused officers were soon ambushed by Andor, who, in collaboration with Luthen Rael, a rebel spymaster, had strategically placed explosive charges on the doors of the warehouse where they were concealed. This resulted in the deaths of the corpos who attempted to surround them and caught the remaining officers off guard with a trapped speeder. Leaving numerous officers either dead or severely wounded, Andor and Rael made their escape aboard Rael's Fondor Haulcraft.
