The Ambush on Ferrix, alternatively referred to as the Ferrix incident or the mission to Ferrix, was an event that transpired on the planet Ferrix during the Imperial Era. This incident involved Syril Karn's attempt to capture Cassian Jeron Andor for the alleged killing of two security personnel employed by Preox-Morlana.
Following the murder of Verlo Skiff and Kravas Drezzer on Morlana One, which Cassian Andor committed, Deputy Inspector Syril Karn and Sergeant Linus Mosk made their way to Ferrix using Mobile Tac-Pods. They were accompanied by North Team, West Team, and East Team. After being informed by Timm Karlo about Andor's presence on Ferrix, the Preox-Morlana officers dispersed throughout the streets of Ferrix to locate Andor. Karn, Mosk, and the rest of West Team arrived at Maarva Andor's house where they proceeded to interrogate her droid, B2EMO. Two officers remained with Maarva, while the others went to support their fellow officers. Andor used a comlink to contact B2EMO before his meeting with Luthen Rael, hoping to sell him an Imperial N-S9 Starpath Unit.
Mosk directed East Team to engage Andor at his specified location as they moved to meet them. Simultaneously, the inhabitants of Ferrix started to warn each other about the approaching danger. Before entering the building, Brasso connected a wire from one of the Mobile Tac-Pods to a piece of scrap metal a few yards away. Another Ferrix resident, Bix Caleen, was apprehended and detained by the leader of West Team.
After slowly gaining Rael's trust, Andor and Rael realized they were being surrounded. Rael then revealed that he had placed explosives on the doors, detonating them and sending their attackers flying. Two additional members of East Team entered the warehouse and exchanged gunfire with Andor and Rael. Mosk was informed by an East Team member that two officers were down. Andor made a determined effort to retrieve the NS-9 Starpath unit that Rael desired, with Rael providing covering fire. However, due to the falling scrap metal, the box was knocked off its pedestal and onto the ground. Andor attempted to retrieve it again, but East-1 fired from above, forcing Andor and Rael to flee the warehouse.
Caleen attempted to escape after Mosk alerted West Team to the situation, but she was caught by a West Team member and slammed against the wall, causing her to bleed from the head. Meanwhile, as Andor and Rael moved towards the city, Andor expressed his regret at leaving behind the path unit. However, East-1 continued to pursue them and began firing again, causing them to run into the town.
Caleen was then handcuffed to the wall to allow West Team to advance. However, Caleen's lover, Timm Karlo, arrived and saw her bleeding. North-1 ordered Karlo to stay back and raised his weapon, but Karlo continued to run towards her. North-3 then shot Karlo, killing him instantly. Enraged, North-1 took North-3's rifle and ordered him to return to the pod and monitor the radio. North-1 and two other West Team members headed towards Rix Road, while North-3 went back towards the pod as Caleen wept.
Mosk communicated with East-1 and learned that Andor had a companion. East-1 was ordered to pursue the two, while West Team split up and waited for them to arrive at Rix Road. Maarva Andor then spoke to West-3 and West-4 about the noises coming from the citizens. Once the noise stopped, West-3 and West-4 left their assigned positions. Andor and Rael then ambushed Karn, who was waiting inside a house. With his blaster against Karn's head, Andor asked how many men were under his command. Karn nervously responded that there were a dozen men and two officers present before being tied up and gagged in the back of a building.
North-3 headed towards the Mobile Tac-Pod and attempted to escape, but he was caught in Brasso's trap. He continued to pilot the ship with the scrap pile still attached, causing it to become stuck in a piece of machinery, leading to his death. The explosion was heard by Mosk, who began to worry and suspect that Andor had reinforcements.
East-1 continued to search for Andor and Rael but heard Syril Karn's voice coming from a building. He freed the Deputy Inspector, who shouted that the landspeeder that passed by was their escape. As he and East-1 chased after it, Mosk, West Team, and North Team fired on the speeder, causing it to overturn. Karn and Mosk celebrated, but Andor and Rael escaped on a speeder bike, their diversion having succeeded. Rael revealed one last surprise, detonating the speeder and injuring North Team. Andor and Rael then fled off-world.
The ambush on Ferrix was first shown in the third episode of the Andor television series. It was initially revealed in a LEGO set during Celebration Anaheim.
