Zhadalene was a planet found where the Outer Rim Territories and the New Territories overlapped. Its location was in grid square N-4 of the Standard Galactic Grid, positioned on the Veragi Trade Route hyperlane connecting Argazda and Sh'ung-tesk. As of 5 ABY, amidst the Galactic Civil War fought between the Galactic Empire and the New Republic, Zhadalene was a contributor to the Imperial Military. During a discussion with his freshly formed Imperial Shadow Council in that year, Fleet Admiral Gallius Rax emphasized the importance of Imperial territories in the Outer Rim for the Empire's war efforts, specifically naming Zhadalene, Belladoon, and Korrus as worlds in that area already controlled by them.
The first reference to Zhadalene appeared in Aftermath: Life Debt, a 2016 book and the second installment of Chuck Wendig's Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.
