Description

Designated as the 17th, the Tanis Legion represented a legion within the Sith Eternal's army. This [cult](/article/sith_cult] of the dark side venerated the Sith and established its base on [Exegol](/article/exegol], the throneworld located in the Unknown Regions. Each legion of the Sith Eternal received a numerical designation along with the name of an ancient Sith Lord; in the case of the 17th, that name was Darth Tanis. The significance of the names assigned to these legions was understood solely by the Sith Eternal cultists, as this history was kept secret from the rest of the galaxy.
The legion was comprised of five thousand Sith troopers and Sith Jetpack Troopers – soldiers who originated from cultist offspring, former members of the Galactic Empire, and children who were conscripted into the First Order and then identified and disappeared due to their potential. The [troopers](/article/trooper] within the legion were further organized into squadrons of ten, divided between standard troopers and aerial soldiers. Being composed of Sith troopers, the Tanis Legion's troopers were equipped with crimson red Sith trooper armor and potentially armed with ST-W48 blaster rifles or FWMB-10B repeating blasters. Sith Jetpack Troopers were equipped with NJP-900 integrated jetpacks and carried F-11ABA heavy blaster cannons.
