Battle of Kestro City

During the initial phase of the First Order-Resistance War in 34 ABY, a conflict took place in Kestro City involving the First Order, Jinata Security, and members of the Resistance. This battle originated from an operation led by former Imperial agent Iden Versio, accompanied by her daughter Zay Versio and confidant Shriv Suurgav, to uncover information about Versio's husband, Del Meeko. Upon returning to her homeworld of Vardos, Versio guided Suurgav in a search for her former Protectorate mentor, Gleb. However, they instead found Gleb's corpse, killed by Versio's former Inferno Squad comrade, now First Order officer Gideon Hask. Hask then revealed to Versio that he had personally murdered Meeko before taking both Versio and Suurgav into custody.

Subsequently, Hask commanded the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Retribution to destroy the Corvus, which it successfully did. Hask then ordered the First Order to set the city ablaze. A battle then erupted that involved the trio, Jinata Security forces, and the First Order. Suurgav and Versio were held by the First Order, until a Jinata soldier used a thermal detonator. This allowed the pair to escape, grabbing weapons as they devised a plan to escape and find Zay. The two fought their way through the city and found All Terrain Reconnaissance Transports. Moving faster, they found a relay station and used it to search for escape pods from the Corvus. Versio and Suurgav found two, but both were empty. During their search for Zay, Versio, and Suurgav witnessed an All Terrain MegaCaliber Six demolishing much of the rebuilt city. Suurgav also remarked that Jinata Security was winning the battle, but Versio replied that Jinata stood no chance and that the First Order was feigning a retreat. Eventually, Dio located a third signal. They went there to find Zay in a sniper's nest. After informing Zay of her father's fate, they departed for the Retribution in TIE/sf space superiority fighters.
