Darth Rivix

Little was known for certain about Darth Rivix's origins, or any part of his personal history before he joined the Imperial Diplomatic Service, and all inquiries into the matter seem to be met with dead ends. Even those who had directly asked Rivix to confirm details about his past had come away with more questions than answers. The perception of his interests and opinions seemed to shift depending on who was speaking about him.

Those who worked with Rivix in the Diplomatic Service remembered him as dedicated, charming, and as someone whose performance consistently stood out. Naturally, it came as no surprise to anyone when he was selected to lead the newly-formed Hand of the Empire.

Although other powerful Sith had competed for the position, naming Rivix as the Hand's liaison to the Eternal Alliance pleased many among the Empire's ranks, as Rivix's organizational and networking skills were considered second-to-none--despite his notorious secrecy.

Personality and traits

Darth Rivix was a humanoid male who had medium-length black hair, red skin and orange eyes. He wore black and red robes with shoulder armor and armored gloves.

Darth Rivix possessed a very charming personality and was able to easily sway many of those he spoke to into liking him, even if they were not sure why. His opinions and interests appeared to change depending on who talked to him. After meeting him, Vector Hyllus suspected that there was something different and unnatural about his ability to charm others. Darth Rivix was also an especially secretive individual, with nothing being known about his past prior to joining the Imperial Diplomatic Service. Those who questioned his background often ended up with more questions than answers. Additionally, Rivix was known to have exceptional organizational and networking skills.

Imperial story

In the Imperial storyline, Darth Rivix arrived on Odessen with a small task force and made first contact with the Commander via hologram and told them that he wished to speak with them in person. Rivix's shuttle landed in the hangar where the Commander received him. Rivix informed the Commander that he was there to assist the Commander in their missions and he would report their achievements back to either Empress Acina or Emperor Vowrawn depending on the player’s previous choices, while the Empress or Emperor's orders would be given to the Commander. He requested a tour of the base before the pair discussed their business in the operations room.

After settling in, Rivix accompanied the Commander and Darth Krovos when they traveled to the Dantooine Jedi Enclave to investigate the whereabouts of Darth Malgus. Darth Rivix reported their findings to the Sith Empress or Emperor after returning from their mission.

After the Invasion of Manaan, Rivix will accompany the Commander and Lana Beniko to the ruins of the Temple of Nul on Elom and participate in the defeat and arrest of Malgus.

Rivix later explored a ruin connected to Darth Nul with Lord Sovu and tricked him into triggering the ruin's deadly trap, after which he executed him. Before he could retrieve the lightsaber piece at the center of the ruin, he was confronted by Tau Idair. Depending on which faction the player is aligned with, Rivix either escapes with the artifact or allows Idair to have it.

Gameplay choices

The player has the option to flirt with him regardless of their gender. Depending on if the player is an Imperial loyalist or saboteur and rejoined the Empire or kept the Alliance independent after the battle on Corellia, then Rivix will have varying conversations between the individual characters:

  • If the player is a and rejoined the Empire, Rivix will address them as . He will present an idea to the player on whether to increase the training of the Hand's troops or to coordinate training along with Alliance troops. A saboteur Warrior can tell Rivix the Hand's troops don't require any additional training.
  • If the player is a and rejoined the Empire, Rivix will address the player by their Sith title that they were granted by Darth Marr at the end of their respective Chapter 3 as . He will report that, according to their deal with either Empress Acina or Emperor Vowrawn, their past holdings as a Dark Council member will be returned to them, which included the Imperial Reclamation Service and MoffPyron'sSilencer fleet. Though he will inform the player that Darth Krovos was using the fleet on the frontlines, he asks if they wish for the fleet to remain where they are or to be returned at once to Odessen. A saboteur Inquisitor can express dissatisfaction with the Silencer fleet's performance and tell Rivix to keep them in maintenance indefinitely.
  • If the player is an and rejoined the Empire, Rivix will address them as . He will inform the player that Darth Xarion was surprisingly agreeable to the player being granted command over covert operations and some of the new members were secretly Xarion's personal spies. Rivix will ask whether they should be kept on surveillance or killed. A saboteur Agent can suggest reporting Xarion to Acina/Vowrawn.
  • If the player is a and rejoined the Empire, Rivix will address the player as . He will later inquire whom to prioritize the Hand's additional bounty hunters against: Republic personnel, senators and military officials or Imperial traitors and failed Sith. A saboteur Hunter can tell Rivix to dismiss the other bounty hunters and let Alliance personnel deal with the targets.
  • If player character kept the Alliance independent, Rivix will address the player character as "Commander".
