A clone trooper officer, holding the military rank of Clone Commander, functioned as a clone navigation officer within the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars. This conflict pitted the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This clone trooper officer was assigned to a medical Pelta-class frigate and took part in the Kaliida Shoals Medical Center evacuation, which occurred shortly before the Battle of the Kaliida Nebula.
This clone individual, a clone navigation officer who achieved the military rank of Clone Commander, was Grown on the planet Kamino. He originated from the DNA of Jango Fett, the bounty hunter and clone template for the clone trooper army. As a clone trooper officer, this individual served the Republic Navy on a medical Pelta-class frigate during the galactic-spanning Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance. Early in the war, during the Malevolence Campaign launched by the Separatists against the Republic Navy, the officer and their frigate were dispatched to the Kaliida Shoals Medical Center. Their mission was to evacuate wounded patients as the Separatist heavy cruiser Malevolence approached to attack the space station.
During the evacuation, the officer had a conversation with Nala Se, the Kaminoan Chief Medical Scientist overseeing the medical station's operations and the evacuation. They communicated via a holographic screen, with the clone officer updating Se on the evacuation's progress from the frigate. Nala Se instructed the commander to prioritize the evacuation of clones in stable condition, while those with more critical injuries would have to wait. The officer then inquired about the clones housed in the bacta tanks, as some of them were not easily movable. Nala Se acknowledged this and directed the commander to guide the mobile patients to the transports, which the officer confirmed. Ultimately, the Battle of the Kaliida Nebula erupted when the Malevolence arrived and attacked the docked frigates that were beginning their departure. The frigates were destroyed, and the Malevolence then turned its attention to the medical station, inflicting critical damage before being intercepted by the newly arrived Shadow Squadron.
In his role as a clone navigation officer, this commander was outfitted with a blue-colored version of the standard Republic military uniform. His rank insignia plaque clearly displayed his rank.
The Clone Commander made his debut in "Shadow of Malevolence," the third episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars' first season. This episode was part of the animated TV series.
