During his time serving as a Deputy Inspector for the security service of Preox-Morlana, Syril Karn was equipped with a blaster pistol bearing the serial number AD-616K6KA. This model was standard issue for Pre-Mor personnel. After Karn's loss of the weapon, its ownership changed hands multiple times, leading to its indirect involvement in key events during the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire.
In the year 5 BBY, Karn spearheaded an operation on Ferrix. This operation was intended as a straightforward arrest, but it escalated into a fatal exchange of gunfire. Amidst the resulting chaos, Karn's target, Cassian Andor, managed to disarm him, seizing his blaster at gunpoint. Andor then absconded from Ferrix, taking the weapon with him.

When Andor journeyed to Aldhani to undertake a mercenary job for a rebel unit commanded by Vel Sartha, he brought the Pre-Mor blaster along. Andor's mercenary status was concealed from the other members of the unit, and Arvel Skeen, a fellow rebel, grew suspicious of Andor's background upon discovering the corporate weapon within Andor's backpack. During the heist, Andor carried the pistol into the Aldhani dam, however he opted to use his own MW-20 Bryar pistol when the fighting began.
Following the Aldhani heist, Andor sought refuge on Niamos, adopting the alias "Keef Girgo" and posing as a tourist. Throughout this period, he kept the Pre-Mor pistol, in addition to his personal weapon, within a kit hidden above the shower in his hotel room, concealing it from his girlfriend Windi. Upon Andor's arrest and subsequent incarceration on Narkina 5, his possessions, including the pistol, were carelessly abandoned in the hotel room.
Approximately one month later, Andor escaped from the prison facility alongside Ruescott Melshi. With the assistance of two fishermen, the pair made their way to Niamos to recover Andor's belongings. Andor discreetly entered the hotel room and retrieved his travel kit without detection. When Melshi suggested that they separate and share their harrowing accounts of Imperial imprisonment with anyone willing to listen, Andor concurred and gifted him the corpo blaster as they parted ways.
The blaster known as AD-616K6KA made its initial appearance in That Would Be Me, the second episode of the Andor series. It was released for streaming on Disney+ on September 21, 2022 as part of the show's three-episode debut.
