Ahr, a Moff and governor of a Mid Rim sector, was a male human who commanded a Venator-class Star Destroyer within the Galactic Empire's navy. He and Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, were tasked with neutralizing a threat located on Namzor circa 2 BBY. However, during their efforts to suppress the Namzor insurgency, Vader defied Ahr's orders, which led Ahr to contact Emperor Palpatine. Palpatine then instructed Vader to obey all of the governor's commands without question.
Subsequently, Ahr and Vader successfully liquidated threats on both Ahn Krantarium and Phelzepham. Following these operations, the Moff attempted to test Vader by ordering him to kill a creature, but the Sith Lord had different intentions. After observing the creature from his starship, Vader changed course, causing the creature to breach the bridge, where it seized and killed Ahr in the vacuum of space.

Within the Galactic Empire, Ahr functioned as the Moff and governor overseeing a Mid Rim sector. Additionally, he served as the commanding officer of a Venator-class Star Destroyer within the Imperial Navy. Around 2 BBY, as part of a pacification operation, he was dispatched alongside the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader to deal with insurgents on the Mid Rim planet Namzor. However, the insurgents had established their base atop a coaxium [hypermatter](/article/hypermatter] deposit. Ahr, instructed to secure the coaxium, commanded all starfighters to return to the Star Destroyer to prevent damage to the coaxium. The Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighter complied, but Vader, piloting his starship, did not. Despite the Moff's direct order for the Sith Lord to withdraw, Vader persisted in attacking the base, ultimately destroying both the insurgents and the coaxium deposit.
Greatly displeased, Ahr used a hologram to contact Emperor Palpatine, reporting Vader's disobedience, his unscheduled arrival, and his destruction of the valuable coaxium. Vader countered, claiming he eliminated the insurgents to prevent their escape. Palpatine inquired about Vader's awareness of the governor's orders and then instructed Vader to obey Ahr's commands as if they originated from Palpatine himself until he had learned a lesson. Vader resented this outcome, feeling reduced to a slave.
Following this, the Moff journeyed to the planet Ahn Krantarium to eliminate a hazardous group of self-repairing droids. After a stormtrooper patrol was wiped out, Ahr dispatched Vader instead of sending more stormtroopers. The Sith Lord swiftly destroyed all droids in the area, surprising Ahr, who then consumed some food. Subsequently, the governor proceeded to the moon Phelzepham in the Mid Rim to liquidate further insurgents. Ahr deployed Vader alongside several stormtroopers, who secured the moon within an hour. Ahr withdrew the stormtroopers beforehand, leaving Vader to complete the task.

Despite the objections of his subordinate, the governor decided to travel to the Kankalo Belt Containment Zone. He dispatched Vader in his starship to destroy the greatest threat there – the Kankalo Belt creature. Viewing Ahr as his primary threat, Vader, upon seeing the creature, turned back toward the Star Destroyer, with the creature in pursuit, to eliminate the Moff. Upon Vader's return, Ahr, angered, commanded him to kneel as the Emperor had ordered. As Vader kneeled, the creature breached the Star Destroyer's bridge to seize Ahr, killing him and other personnel in the vacuum of space. The Emperor then sensed the governor's demise and recognized that Vader had learned his lesson.
Ahr was clad in a gray-green Imperial officer's uniform displaying the rank insignia of Moff and featuring four code cylinders.
Ahr made an appearance in Age of Rebellion - Darth Vader 1, a comic that was the final one-shot in the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion anthology series. Greg Pak wrote the comic, Ramon Bachs did the pencils, and Marvel Comics published it on June 26, 2019.
