A woman, specifically of the female variety, held the role of mother to Armitage Hux. This woman, employed as a kitchen staff member, engaged in a romantic relationship with Commandant Brendol Hux of the Galactic Empire, leading to Armitage's birth. During his childhood, Armitage was deprived of the opportunity to become acquainted with her. In the year 5 ABY, Grand Admiral Rae Sloane received instructions from Fleet Admiral Gallius Rax to extract both the young Armitage and his father from Arkanis, which was then under siege by the forces of the New Republic; Sloane was instructed to disregard Hux's mother, along with Brendol's wife, Maratelle. In the decades following the Galactic Civil War, Armitage later rose to prominence as a key leader within the First Order. During the events of 34 ABY, Commander Poe Dameron, seeking to buy time for the Resistance to evacuate their Resistance base located on D'Qar, informed Armitage that the Resistance's leader, Leia Organa, possessed an urgent message concerning his mother; this caused Hux to become so infuriated that he commanded his ship to initiate an attack on Dameron.
