Astrid Fenris, a female human hailing from Yir Tangee, operated as a smuggler during the Galactic Empire's imperial_era. Back in 10 BBY, Fenris spent some time on the planet Vandor, where she was running a fraudulent scheme: exporting ordinary Vandor ice and falsely selling it as the highly prized R'alla mineral water. After the smuggler Han Solo completed the Kessel Run in a mere 12 parsecs, Fenris boasted that she had accomplished the same feat by navigating between two black holes located within the Maw Cluster. She proclaimed her intention to locate this route and claim it as her own, but subsequently avoided the subject whenever it was brought up.
Astrid Fenris, a [smuggler](/article/smuggler] originating from Yir Tangee, found herself on the planet Vandor, a world known for its ice, during the era of the Galactic Empire's reign. While present there, she engaged in a deceitful practice, exporting relatively inexpensive Vandor ice and then marketing it to unsuspecting buyers as the valuable R'alla mineral water, which was rumored to possess rejuvenating qualities.
In the year 10 BBY, Fenris was present within the Lodge, a drinking establishment situated in the Fort Ypso settlement on Vandor. She was engaged in conversation with another human when the smuggler Han Solo and Qi'ra, a lieutenant from Crimson Dawn, walked past them while discussing a sabacc game that Solo had recently lost.
Later, Solo and his associates achieved the Kessel Run in an unprecedented twelve parsecs aboard the YT-1300 light freighter known as the Millennium Falcon, sparking considerable debate among spacers familiar with the route, Fenris included. She expressed doubt regarding the route Solo claimed to have taken, and jotted down a note in a book kept by Midnight, a barkeeper at the Lodge, stating that she would prove he had taken a different path.
Her theory posited that Solo had piloted the freighter between a pair of black holes within the Maw Cluster, implying that the credit for the run should be attributed to the gambler Lando Calrissian, who was the owner of the ship at the time and therefore responsible for any modifications that enabled it to withstand the gravitational forces of the black holes. Following her declaration of intent to discover Solo's route and claim it for herself, patrons of the Lodge would regularly inquire about the progress of her theory whenever she visited. As Fenris was unable to identify which specific pair of black holes in the Maw Solo had supposedly utilized, she began to avoid the topic altogether, swiftly shifting her attention to other subjects whenever it was mentioned.
Fenris maintained that her Vandor ice scam was merely a temporary measure to settle several outstanding debts. She had a fair complexion, brown eyes, and white hair styled in a Mandalorian-style bob haircut.
Fenris piloted a modified YT-2400 freighter called the Silver Howl. While on Vandor, she wore a brown synth-hide capelet with hidden pockets, layered over a tan shirt and black pants. She also sported a belt with a [holster](/article/holster] carrying a Ophidiax-350 heavy blaster pistol.
Astrid Fenris made her debut appearance in the 2018 Anthology film Solo: A Star Wars Story and was officially identified in the companion reference book Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, authored by Pablo Hidalgo.
