In 3643 BBY, amidst the conflict between the Jedi Order and the Flesh Raiders hailing from the planet of Tython, a band of Flesh Raiders assaulted the Twi'lek Pilgrim settlement known as Kalikori village. Subsequent to being driven out of the area after they attacked a Jedi outpost situated in close proximity, another group of Flesh Raiders opted to launch an assault on Kalikori following the departure of a young Jedi who had set out to retrieve a nearby cache of Flesh Raider weapons for the inhabitants. During this violent encounter, the wife of Saylew, a villager, was killed before the villagers managed to repel the Flesh Raiders. Overcome with grief, Saylew interrupted a meeting between several Jedi and Moorint, the village's Scout Chief, as they were devising a scouting mission.
The 2011 massively multiplayer online role-playing video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, developed by BioWare, first referenced the attack in the Jedi Knight class mission entitled "High-Tech Savages." The event unfolds during the course of the mission, with the player's eventual return to the village revealing an enraged Saylew.
