During the Cold War that occurred between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire after its reformation, the Flesh Raiders who were native to the planet of Tython began to escalate their attacks against the other inhabitants of the world, namely the Jedi Order and a group of Twi'lek Pilgrims. As part of the Order's efforts to suppress the natives' uprising in 3643 BBY, the apprentice of Jedi Master Orgus Din conducted a raid on a weapons stash held by the Flesh Raiders, located in the Upper Hollows of the Tythos Ridge. The Padawan, battling through the Flesh Raider forces, successfully retrieved the natives' blasters and also rescued an astromech droid named T7-O1 after defeating the native's warmaster. Once back at the Twi'lek settlement of Kalikori village, the Padawan handed over the weapons to Ranna Tao'Ven, who was the daughter of the village's Matriarch, and the other Pilgrims, enabling them to defend themselves more effectively.
A young Jedi apprentice received orders from Jedi Master Orgus Din to go to the Jedi Temple in 3643 BBY, subsequent to defeating the Dark Jedi Callef and stopping an invasion of the Tythonian Gnarls region of the planet by the Flesh Raiders. Once there, the learner was presented to the Jedi Council, and Din officially took them on as a Padawan.
Orgus Din tasked his apprentice with a mission when the Council made the decision to look into Callef and the recent uprising by the natives. The Padawan's initial task was to journey to Kalikori village, a nearby unauthorized settlement of Twi'lek Pilgrims, and find out what the settlers were aware of regarding the mysterious influence behind the increased attacks by the Flesh Raiders. The Padawan encountered Matriarch Sumari, the village's leader, and discovered that the Flesh Raider attacks had been escalating in the area. Ranna Tao'Ven, her daughter, and Moorint, the village's Scout Chief, took over the conversation when the Matriarch was compelled to retire due to illness.
Moorint's scouts had discovered a Flesh Raider weapons cache situated in the Upper Hollows area of the nearby Tythos Ridge, and he requested that the Padawan destroy the weapons to deny the natives a tactical and technological advantage. Conversely, Tao'Ven disagreed, asserting that the weapons would be more valuable if the Padawan recovered them for the villagers. After contemplating the matter, the Jedi concurred with Tao'Ven and resolved to retrieve the weapons.

Moorint cautioned the Jedi, however, that an access key from one of the Flesh Raiders' leaders would be necessary to gain entry to the cache. The Padawan ascended into the mountains and entered the cave system referred to as the Upper Hollows, battling through the Flesh Raiders along the mountain path. Using only a vibrosword, the young Jedi fought past at least nine Flesh Raiders and a manka cat before confronting the natives' Warmaster. The Padawan successfully defeated the native and obtained the access key, despite the Flesh Raider's size and raw power.
Inside, the Jedi discovered a supply of blasters and other weapons, which were recovered for the village. The Padawan also found an astromech droid, T7-O1, who revealed that he had been serving as a survey droid for the Jedi Order when the Flesh Raiders captured him. T7 also presented the Padawan with a holorecording that the droid had recorded while feigning deactivation, which revealed that a hooded figure—Callef's master—had instructed the Dark Jedi to attack the Gnarls. The pair returned the weapons to Kalikori Village and gave them to Tao'Ven and Moorint after the Padawan removed T7's malfunctioning restraining bolt.
The Padawan was surprised to see that Orgus Din had arrived at the village as well, but interrupted a disagreement between Tao'Ven, Moorint, Din, and a villager named Saylew. The Flesh Raiders had attacked the village while the Padawan was recovering the weapons, and Saylew's wife had been killed. Following the argument, which ended with Saylew storming off in disappointment, the apprentice promptly showed T7's recording to the Jedi Master. Din, visibly troubled, declined to answer his apprentice's inquiries about the figure's identity and took the droid back to the Temple with him, but not before assigning the Padawan a new mission: to investigate the recent sightings of Flesh Raiders in the vicinity of the ancient ruins of Kaleth, a temple of the Jedi Order's precursors.
The raid on the Flesh Raiders weapons cache is featured in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game launched by BioWare on December 20, 2011. The events of the raid take place in the Jedi Knight class story mission titled "High-Tech Savages," which is part of the character's storyline on Tython. For dark-side points, the player has the option to destroy the weapons and deprive the village of the tactical advantage, or they can choose to recover the weapons for light-side points. Additionally, players can opt to remove T7's restraining bolt for light-side points, or decline, which results in Orgus Din removing it later for dark-side points. Given that the Jedi Knight is a Republic character, it is presumed that they only select light-side options.
