Barash Silvain's parents

At least a couple of Kage people hailed from the Inner Rim world of Quarzite. As was characteristic of all Kage, they possessed photographic memories. By the time 407 BBY rolled around, they procreated a Kage female offspring—named Barash Silvain—along with a minimum of two additional offspring. Furthermore, in that same period of time, the newborn Silvain was discovered to have sensitivity to the Force, leading to her being taken by the Jedi Order for instruction as a Jedi Knight at the Jedi Enclave located on the Core Worlds planet of Coruscant.

In 397 BBY, Silvain confided in her close confidant—the Ikkrukkian Jedi Master Porter Engle—that due to the Order finding her at a more advanced age than typical, coupled with her photographic memory, she had never ceased remembering her biological progenitors and kin. Silvain expressed that she retained the sensation of being with her parents, and despite having no regrets about being brought to the temple, the memory of what she had forfeited lingered. She then conveyed to Engle that she had rediscovered family in him, and subsequently asked if he would take on the role of her brother, an offer he gladly accepted.
