"Gamorrean Flu: A Cautionary Tale!" stands as the final installment in a series of five short animated features, all launched on May 4, 2017. These shorts served to promote the second season of LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures. Its initial release was on the LEGO Star Wars official webpage. Later, on June 17, "Gamorrean Flu: A Cautionary Tale!" along with the other four shorts, were compiled into a single episode entitled "A New Home", also made available on the LEGO Star Wars website.
Onboard the Home One, Admiral Ackbar receives a visit from Rowan, Kordi, and Zander Freemaker, who tell him about their remarkably low accident rate. Kordi elaborates, mentioning they had zero accidents the previous day, and then notices the Admiral's apparent distress. Admiral Ackbar explains that two of their most valuable operatives are stuck beyond an Imperial blockade, lacking a fuel intermixer, leaving them marooned. Even with a fuel intermixer, Ackbar expresses doubt about their ability to reach the stranded rebel agents.
Zander, Kordi, and Rowan step forward to volunteer, making lighthearted jokes about the possibility of being arrested. The Freemakers then pilot the StarScavenger in the direction of the blockade. They soon come across a Gozanti-class cruiser. The Imperial officer on board orders them to prepare for boarding. However, the Freemakers, anticipating this, feign symptoms of the Gamorrean flu. The Imperials force their way onto the StarScavenger, led by Durpin and Plumestriker, the same Imperial officers who previously encountered the Freemakers on Kashyyyk and Hoth.
Plumestriker identifies the Freemakers as individuals listed on the Empire's Most Wanted list. Durpin declares their arrest. Kordi, pretending to be ill, pleads for assistance, claiming they've contracted the Gamorrean flu. Zander and Rowan join in with the charade. Durpin is convinced and begins to panic. However, Plumestriker points out that humans are immune to the Gamorrean flu and instructs the stormtroopers to apprehend them and seize their cargo, which turns out to be a sealed container. Durpin starts to feel unwell and requests Plumestriker to check his temperature.
The Freemakers find themselves imprisoned in a holding cell on Durpin and Plumestriker's Gozanti cruiser. Kordi and Rowan, however, exchange knowing glances, hinting at a surprise for the Imperials. Rowan uses the Force to telekinetically extract Roger from the cargo box and reconstruct him. Outside, the stormtroopers express a desire for something exciting to occur. Roger then incapacitates the guards using one of his legs, freeing the other Freemakers. Kordi directs Zander and Roger to the engine room to restore power to the ship.
Roger follows instructions but stumbles over one of the unconscious stormtroopers. Rowan then retrieves his lightsaber from the cargo box, using it to cut through a panel and steal the fuel intermixer. This action causes the ship to lose power. The Freemakers make their escape from the Gozanti cruiser aboard the StarScavenger, while Durpin is in a state of panic, fearing he has caught the Gamorrean flu. He asks Plumestriker to examine his glands. Plumestriker sighs in exasperation.
Subsequently, the Freemakers land on the planet and are greeted by a thankful Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian. Chewbacca expresses his gratitude with a roar and a hug. The StarScavenger and the Millennium Falcon then journey back to the rebel flagship Home One. Lando expresses his appreciation for their assistance, noting this is the second time they've helped him, and credits Ackbar for recruiting them. The Freemakers express their pride in aiding the Rebel Alliance, and Rowan expresses gratitude to the rebels for providing them with a home. Roger interrupts, revealing that he left one of his legs behind on the Imperial cruiser and inquires if they could return to retrieve it.
