The episode titled "Big Brother's Bounty" serves as the second segment of the thirteenth episode in the Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures animated series. This episode became available for viewing on August 2, 2023, via the Disney+ streaming service.
Kai Brightstar extends an invitation to Lys Solay and Nubs to partake in a game of darts at Hap's Sap Tap. Solay's attempt to hit the bull's eye falls short. When Nubs throws his dart, it follows a boomerang path throughout the establishment, splashing two alien customers' bowls before finally hitting the bull's eye. Solay offers her congratulations to Nubs.
Shortly thereafter, a hooded Dowutin abruptly enters the cafe, causing a stir among the patrons. She inquires about the whereabouts of Hap, the cafe's proprietor, and announces her search for a bounty hunter named Ansen Strung. The individual provides a hologram of Strung and asks if anyone has seen him. Brightstar, Solay, and Nubs volunteer their assistance, but the newcomer declines. In a moment of clumsiness, she drops her hologram and reveals her identity. Solay points out the newcomer's resemblance to Ansen, and she introduces herself as Senna Strung, Ansen's younger sibling.
Brightstar and Nubs express their surprise at Ansen having a sister. Senna inquires about their connection to Ansen and whether they had hired him for a bounty hunting assignment. Solay clarifies that they had previously assisted him. Hap asks if Ansen is safe, and Senna explains that their weekly holo-calls have been missed for the past two weeks. She only knows that Tenoo was the last planet he was working on. Senna occupies a table where a Mirialan boy is sitting, who quickly leaves.
Senna articulates her concern for her brother's well-being. She reveals that Ansen is training her to become a bounty hunter and consistently looks out for her. Determined to locate him, she emphasizes that this is what bounty hunters do. Brightstar questions Senna's status as a bounty hunter, to which she admits she is still an aspiring one. She struggles to catch her hologram. Brightstar and his companions pledge to assist Senna in finding Ansen. Solay inquires about his most recent assignment.
Senna recalls during their last holo-chat that Ansen mentioned a substantial bounty near Kublop Springs for a local farmer named Weebo. Brightstar recognizes Weebo, and Solay suggests that they could ask her for information, given that Ansen is assisting her. Senna expresses regret for not inquiring about Weebo earlier, stating that a true bounty hunter would not have made such an oversight. Senna takes the lead, and they proceed to Weebo's farm.
Weebo informs Senna that Ansen is searching for one of her missing Burowga creatures. She elaborates that these six-legged, horned animals are fond of digging and play a crucial role in preparing the soil for planting. Solay expresses her admiration for the animals. Weebo explains that Burogwa are naturally curious and prone to wandering off. Weebo recalls that Ansen tracked her missing Burowga to the far side of the adjacent forest. When Brightstar asks Weebo if she tried calling him, Weebo says that Ansen did not return her calls, leading her to assume he was busy. Weebo emphasizes that she needs all her Burowga for the planting season.
Senna asks the Jedi Initiates if they know how to reach the far side of the forest. Brightstar confirms his familiarity with the route but cautions that it is a considerable distance and requires speeder bikes. The group of four rides speeder bikes towards the forest's edge, only to find their path obstructed by roots. Solay suggests continuing on foot. As they approach the forest's edge, Nubs discovers Ansen's speeder bike, still running, at the bottom of a steep hill. Senna expresses her concern that Ansen is in danger.
Ignoring the advice of her local guides, she attempts to descend the hill using vines. However, the vines break, causing her to fall. The Jedi younglings descend safely using their abilities. Senna complains that a real bounty hunter wouldn't have had this happen. The group approaches Ansen's speeder, only to be ensnared in a cage-like trap. Senna searches for an escape route, lamenting her repeated mistakes. Solay reassures her that everyone makes mistakes and that mistakes present opportunities for learning and improvement. This encourages Senna.
Ansen emerges from the foliage, believing he has captured Weebo's missing Burogwa. Senna expresses her relief that her brother is safe. Ansen is taken aback by his sister's presence on Tenoo and questions her association with the Jedi younglings. Senna explains that she was worried because he missed their last two holo-calls. Ansen apologizes, explaining that he was preoccupied with trapping the lost Burogwa. He reveals that he turned off his comm to avoid scaring the Burogwa away with the sound.
At that moment, the missing Burogwa appears in the bush behind Ansen. Senna alerts Ansen to the Burogwa's presence. The Burogwa burrows into the ground, and Ansen gives chase. Senna uses an electrical tool to overload a sensor on the cage trap, causing the roof to open. She uses a grappling cable to escape the cage with the Jedi younglings. Meanwhile, Ansen manages to mount the runaway Burogwa but struggles to control it. Senna realizes that they need to corral the Burogwa. Brightstar and his Jedi friends agree to help and draw their lightsabers.
Through collaborative effort, they successfully guide the Burogwa towards the cage. Ansen points out the need to get the creature inside the cave. Senna devises a plan involving the speeder bike and instructs the younglings to prepare to use their Force powers at her signal. She re-enters the cave and revs the speeder's engine. The Burogwa jumps into the cage with Ansen. Once inside, the two Dowutin exit the cave, with Ansen using his rocket boots. At Senna's signal, the younglings secure the top of the cage.
Despite the success in capturing the missing Burogwa, Ansen is disheartened by the damage inflicted on his red speeder bike. Senna embraces him, expressing her relief that he is unharmed. Senna expresses doubt about her abilities as a bounty hunter compared to her brother. Ansen disagrees, praising her excellent job in capturing the Burogwa and acknowledging it as her first successful bounty.
Later, the Dowutin bounty hunters and the Jedi younglings return the missing Burogwa to Weebo. Weebo expresses her gratitude to Ansen, but Ansen redirects the praise to his sister Senna, whom he introduces as one of the most promising new bounty hunters. Senna acknowledges that she learned from the best and thanks her Jedi friends for their guidance. She says that they taught her that mistakes were things that she could learn from. Solays says they never doubted her for a second. Senna releases the lost Burogwa, who is overjoyed to reunite with its fellow Burogwa. The younglings, Weebo, and the Dowutin bounty hunters share a moment of joy.
